mirrorimij Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 Question for BCR Greg if he's reading. Were the tailpieces replaced at the store or did the customers do it after the sale? I know they shipped from the factory with a Wilkenson. Do you know which ones got real late 50's bridges, which ones got Pigtail's, etc?Great guitar by the way. Mine isn't going anywhere.
cmatthes Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 I've played several of those (TV, cherry and an orange one) and they are ALL incredible guitars.
BCR Greg Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 I put the 50's tailpiece on that one, along with the Tone Pros locking studs.
mirrorimij Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 I put the 50's tailpiece on that one, along with the Tone Pros locking studs. Thanks Greg. What about mine? I have the Cherry one that I bought from SirDan.
mirrorimij Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 That one had a tailpiece added, as well.Pigtail?
mirrorimij Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 Thanks Greg. Sorry to detract from your thread Supergenius. At least we're keeping it near the top. Good luck with your sale.
sirDaniel Posted January 28, 2009 Posted January 28, 2009 I have found the only real reason to sell a BCRjr is because you now have a real '59.I owned the red one, then a TV one, now a real one.oh, this one for sale, just buy it and thank Greg for spec-ing it. AMAZING.ps, the real tailpiece is the final pixie dust sprinkle.
mirrorimij Posted January 28, 2009 Posted January 28, 2009 Good to see you SirDan. IMO, you have the only legitimate reason for ever selling a BCR Jr- LOL.
supergenius365 Posted January 29, 2009 Author Posted January 29, 2009 Kurt,Can't get a PM through for some reason. Thanks for the offers, but I have to pass on those.J
Guest pirateflynn Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 What's the neck like on that one? What pickup does it have?
kizanski Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 I have found the only real reason to sell a BCRjr is because you now have a real '59.I'd say that is an accurate statement.
hardheartedbill Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 no 58s are the ones you want! I keed I keed
sirDaniel Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 the irony of it is that Greg, and his bcrjr, is probably THE reason I ever got hooked on one. I played Nightwolfs and completely fell in love and never fell out.BUY THIS JUNIOR; SOMEONE!!

If I wasn't already the proud owner of BCR Jr's in Cherry, Orange, and TV Yellow, and a Hamer Jr. in Korina... I'd be all over it!
Camstone Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 Juniors kick ass!Intonation (and neck pickups) are for pussies. Somebody buy this.
supergenius365 Posted January 29, 2009 Author Posted January 29, 2009 The pickup is a Lollar. Neck is medium. Not the fattest neck ever, but wider than I prefer. With respect to '59 Gibson Jr.'s, I bet this one is built better Also: The intonation on this is excellent.
sirDaniel Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 With respect to '59 Gibson Jr.'s, I bet this one is built better define better? Maybe you've never done the real deal.... Thats like saying a strat plus is better then a real '62. Or a MUSTANG II is better then... well, ya know...

Thats like saying a strat plus is better then a real '62. Or a MUSTANG II is better then... well, ya know... Just a little innocent pot stirring on my part. No offense intended. "Better" is subjective. I have never played a '59.
