I am just passing this on. Below is the e-mail I received this morning:

Dear Valued Italia Straps Customer,

As a past customer, we just wanted to let you know about our Buy One, Get One Free Sale going on now. In addition, check out prices that are 40% lower than in 2008!

More info about the sale is available here: http://www.italiastraps.com/new-sale-page.htm

Another HFC'er put me onto these people and I bought two straps. The quality and prices are good.

2 of those for $70 is a steal. *Very* high quality straps. I have these and a couple of Moodys. The Moodys are better but not by much, these Italias are a fantastic bargain.

I have 2 Italia straps. I agree they're really good, but they're so freaking thick that they're difficult to use. Any tips on that?

I've never seen one in real life, but if they are quality leather (not suede), you might try a leather conditioner to soften them up. Lexol is a good brand that I trust, HERE

Poe,

Thanks again for posting the last sale and putting me onto these straps over the holidays!

I bought a pair of 4 inch width straps, one in black and one in tan. Even though both straps initially appeared similar in thickness (~7/32nds), the black strap is slightly thicker and much less flexible.

Tan strap - has two almost equal thickness pieces of leather sewn together (~4/32nds and ~3/32nds). Straploks went on with some difficulty with an assist from a quarter to push the c-clip on one end. THis one is flexible and fine from day one.

Black strap - has two pieces of unequal thickness leather sewn together (+5/32nds and ~2/32nds). Because of this I have been unable to put the straploks on and started bending the straplok housing when I tried to install, so I stopped. This one will need some softening up.

edited to add:

I gave it another go with the black strap and compressed the leather around the eyelet enough with a C clamp to get the straplok installed. At first, I was hesitant to do this, but the leather is so thick that it did no harm. This is one badass strap! :)

I don't have a problem at all Dave. I needed to use a pair of needle nosed pliers to install the straplocks, but after that I don't have a problem with the thickness of them. They are thick, but soft and supple. What problems are you having?

Trying to use them on acoustics without strap locks.

To anyone interested in a nice quality strap these are great. I have one, it's the only one I use right now. After I bought it I got one for a guitar playing friend and he loves it too! If I need another strap, I'll buy another and another..

great quality, great deal.

I got 2 of these straps on the last sale they had - 2 for 1 sale.

They have another 2 for 1 sale.

These are fantastic straps - very thick leather and superb quality. Better made than the Franklins I have seen.

These are similar to Moody in quality.

I'm used to a 3" Franklin strap, which I've had no trouble with BTW. Is the 4" a bit cumbersome or excessive on a 6 string electric? I've always been under the impression that 4" was "for bass" and 2.5" for guitar.

No, not at all. I find the wider strap more comfortable. BTW, The sale is on everything - all widths and sizes.

Thanks for the "heads up!", Joe.

I've been on the lookout for a nice leather strap, cheap. So I've been waiting for a used one to pop up.

Now I've got two on the way! I also had concerns about the 4", as I'm not exactly broad-shouldered, and

went back and forth about the width for hours. Italia let me get one of each width (for the price of the 4"),

so-we'll see. I can't wait.

Very nice. Please post your thoughts in the different widths when they arrive.
