I'm putting this up in anticipation of keeping at least one of the 2 guitars I have coming in (I hope I'm right :D). If I do indeed end up keeping both, I'll be putting up another Studio Custom (impossible to say which one at this point). This Studio Custom's up first because it's similar to my '94, but worth more (or, would cost more anyway).

A bunch of upgrades on this one:

1) 2-piece korina body, korina neck

2) Ultimate quilt top in Aztec gold

3) Ebony fretboard

4) 1st fret victory inlay

All that stuff above was done at the factory obviously. In addition, I chucked the original Seymour Duncan 59's (which were fine pickups in this guitar, I just wanted something a bit raunchier) and put in a 2 conductor zebra Rio Grande Texas in the neck and 2 conductor black Rio Grande BBQ in the bridge. The tone control is a push-pull pot that is currently wired to do nothing since the Rio's aren't splittable.

Here's what it looks like. Keep in mind, the current pickups are different than the ones shown.

I believe this would list for right around 6K today. So if Hamer had one of these sitting in their warehouse right now, it could be yours for 3K!

Or you could buy mine (which is minty condition, plays like buttah and has mojo out the yin yang ) for $1600 Paypal'd and shipped.

Thanks for looking.

Duuude. When Hamer morphs into Fender's custom shop, you'll rue the day. I'm not saying anything, I'm just saying, yo.

So Austin, what is the current look? Reverse zebras or ... ?

Mother of all Studios... it's got it all!

I want one when I grow up.

Most examples of Aztec Gold I have seen have been more of an amber/orange type color, but this one looks more yellowish...is that just the lighting for the pictures, or is it really closer to yellow?

That aztec gold from the mid 90s was more orange. Since about 2003ish they have been shooting a more yellow version. I prefer the old version of the color. This guitar still kicks all kind of ass though.

What he said. This korina Studio is the exact same color as my aztec gold chambered Studio. On the other hand, I've had a couple mid-90's bolt-on Hamers in aztec gold and they were both orange. The current vintage orange color looks closest to the old aztec gold, but that's not a common finish on anything other than Newports. The current aztec gold is really more of a vintage yellow. Gotta love Hamer naming conventions!
