DavidE Posted August 17, 2009 Posted August 17, 2009 That's suhweet! That bridge mod is incredible! There's nothing worse than changing strings on a Bigsby. That's why my Newport has such old strings...

That's why my Newport has such old strings...Yeah, It's waaaaay easier to load strings and they sit tight, sometime the wrap ends come off the pins and loose sustain. Too bad I goofed it up. I could have replaced the Bigsby, but it works perfectly, just looks a goofy up close.
cmatthes Posted August 18, 2009 Posted August 18, 2009 If you haven't tried one of those before, they are a blast to play! That's the coolest one they made.
Monacosis Posted August 18, 2009 Posted August 18, 2009 must..... resist...... temptation........ beautiful guitar Ernie! gawd i love Gretsches! mike
velorush Posted August 18, 2009 Posted August 18, 2009 Wow! That's beautiful. I'd imagine that the smaller body is significantly more feedback resistant, as well. Does this one have the ladder bracing (showing my Gretsch ignorance), or did that come later?

Absolutely love the guitar, the color is exactly right and you've done the only mods anyone would ever need to make on it. Somebody buy this so I can get back to obsessing over what amp to buy!
santellavision Posted August 18, 2009 Author Posted August 18, 2009 I was just joking about the X-ray thing. You're right, some guys are taking that way too serious. Yeah, the guitar is perfect now. The TV Jones p/ups and new pots really make it come alive. The Roller bridge just keeps it perfect tune with some crazy Brian Setzer type twangin'!

Will the Obama Public Option Plan include MRIs for guitars. In Canada guitars are dying by the hundreds because the luthiers cannot get these critical tests done in time to save the guitar. Please, won't you help save a guitar? Just say NO to the Public Option! caddie
Bloozguy Posted August 21, 2009 Posted August 21, 2009 Thank god! -Austin Thank god! -Mitch Just goes to show that sometimes there can be a financial benefit to snoozing and losing. Between this and Lockbody's silver sparkle Studio, I just saved over $2K
