tobereeno Posted December 16, 2009 Posted December 16, 2009 that's a lot of finish wear!! seemed to earn its stripes though: It's up for sale, says it was previously owned by the Trixter guitarist?? Could that finish wear have been done intentionally?? God forbid someone do that to a Jim O'Connor finish! I personally think the guitar in the clip is getting a really, really nice tone though.
RacerX Posted December 16, 2009 Posted December 16, 2009 I know that guitar, I just missed it when Steve sold it as a project... tobereeno, check yer pm Mark
HAMERMAN Posted December 16, 2009 Posted December 16, 2009 Maybe it just shed! Sorry couldn't resist. :-)Looks like it started out as a a sustainer model (or had an on board wireless).
Jeff R Posted December 16, 2009 Posted December 16, 2009 It was a sustainer model. Compare the rout pattern of the neck pickup to the bridge one. I had a Chap Sustainer with the same neck p/u rout. Back panel conceals cavity for two 9V batteries.
Steve Haynie Posted December 16, 2009 Posted December 16, 2009 Are those dark areas burns? If someone was setting that Chaparral on fire it would explain why the front is ruined and the back looks OK.
cmatthes Posted December 16, 2009 Posted December 16, 2009 That's my thought too - notice that the "soft bits" in the middle aren't touched/torched.
gatorbyte007 Posted December 16, 2009 Posted December 16, 2009 I sold this guitar on eBay a couple years back. I bought it from peter, it was owned by Steve brown of trixter. It is burned on the front. It had a bad headstock repair with nails . I fixed the repair and kim Keller helped out with the sustaniac parts. I needed money to buy some guitars from Scotti hill so I sold it. A buyer in japan bought it for alot of cash. I doubt that it. is cheap. The guy who bought it is a monster player. Oh ,I forgot the neck is also glued on. Something also that the other Steve did.
