geoff_hartwell Posted March 12, 2010 Posted March 12, 2010 I had a green 10inch Velocette that I wish I never sold. Great amps! GH
ford Posted March 12, 2010 Author Posted March 12, 2010 The Trace is a very, very good amp.... and it is sold....!
NeilZ Posted March 15, 2010 Posted March 15, 2010 I will chime in on the Fano. I worked with Dennis from 1999 until 2008. The SP6 is one of the guitars in a line Dennis Fano designed, for what was originally the Artifact line. The concept went like this...What if we discovered an old warehouse. In this old warehouse we found guitars incorporating bits and parts and ideas from each of the main guitar manufacturers of the 1950s and 1960.Sort of like the American Motors approach, but guitars instead of cars.Dennis and I had a lot of fun dreaming up combinations of Fender, Gibson, Gretsch and Rickenbacker ideas.I still have some extremely cool Fano prototypes:Tonestar II - A mix between a 335 and a Rick 381Satellite - An original design with a single cutaway and and a thin mahogany body.Orbiter Alien Head - Set neck single cutaway solid body with a quilted maple top with what appears to be an alein's head in the figuring.Les Fano - Dennis built me his take on a 1959 Les Paul Standard. AAAAA flamed maple top, hand-carved. Lightweight swamp ash body, chambered for tone. Five piece plamed maple, walnut, net with cocobolo fingerboard and abalone dot inlays.Check it out at : http://homepage.mac.com/neilziesing/PhotoAlbum20.htmlLastly, Dennis built me an exact replica of Thomas Blug's 1961 Olympic White Strat. Lightest Strat I have ever played. A huge tone machine. So the bottom line is that, although I no longer work with Dennis and I no longer speak to him, I have to say that he is, bar none, the best guitar builder alive today.Someone buy this guitar!
ford Posted March 15, 2010 Author Posted March 15, 2010 Neil.. I remember emailing you a few years back when you and Dennis were working together.Fanos are fantastic... selling this to buy another.... and as usual will always have my JM6....THe Daytona is great also....the neck feels as good as the Fano, which is a huge accomplishment...of course it was made first, so I'll say the Fano feels as good as the Hamer Daytona neck, which is a huge accomplishment!
ford Posted March 17, 2010 Author Posted March 17, 2010 Pic added of the Dr Z Maz Jr nr 1x12 combo!Very versatile amp.... can get voxy and fendery.... lots of headroom for an 18 watter... and it is LOUD!
ford Posted March 21, 2010 Author Posted March 21, 2010 I've played a few great Daytona's and this one was as good or better than all of them!Fano and Dr. Z also still available.
ford Posted March 23, 2010 Author Posted March 23, 2010 PM replied to..Lots of interest in both, but no takers yet...a couple of deals backed out of at the last moment.
