MCChris Posted June 27, 2010 Posted June 27, 2010 Excellent! I'm gonna drag Chris up there and bring the Purple guitar.Give it to Jaye so he can rip the whammy bar off of it like Ricky Medlocke does at the end of Skynyrd shows. My favorite part about Confederate Sons so far: no shorts onstage, even on that uncovered flatbed truck!Back in the day, the Mean Reds were in the opposite scenario: the only original band auditioning against cover/variety bands for a 4th of July slot at the Taste of Chicago. I had no clue how we got the audition in the first place, but I certainly didn't expect anything to come of it, as the preference at those types of festivals is to have easily recongnizable/digestible music. So after our 3-song set I took off to go get laid. When I got back to the band house the next morning I found out we won lol.
backinit Posted June 27, 2010 Posted June 27, 2010 Congrats J, very cool. You know it was all about the whammy mojo.
Jeff R Posted June 27, 2010 Posted June 27, 2010 Just got off the phone with Jaye, he's coming off three gigs in 24 hours (aka, pummeled physically via sleep deprivation and playing your fingers and heart out) and he's still so giddy about the great news.I'd be too. Damn awesome.
jisham Posted June 28, 2010 Author Posted June 28, 2010 My favorite part about Confederate Sons so far: no shorts onstage, even on that uncovered flatbed truck! Yeah, shorts are strictly forbidden in this band. But damn, it was at least 100 degrees when we hit the "flatbed" stage around 1 pm in the HD dealer parking lot:
