I guess if it's local, the best answer would be for you to take your amp to the shop and plug it in and see if you think it's worth the money or if it's all hype. I've read about them, but never heard one.

had a 2x12. loaded it with celes 12/65's. it delivered the goods, but not the humph of a marshall 4x12. they are heavy bigtime. my avatar is just as good.

It is being transferred in to my local shop from another of their locations. It is a 2x12. I have 2 Avatar cabs allready but the port on the Port City has me curious.

I had one. Lots of low end and a little scooped in the mids. I tried all kinds of speakers in it. Similar to a 4x12 sound, but you don't really get the thump. If I were playing 80s metal anymore it would be a great cab with a set of GT75s in it as an alternative to hauling a 4x12.

I've never had the pleasure but they sound interesting. I've tried and like the Genz-Benz Cabs but I just haven't wanted to spend the $ on one.

ported cabs have always sounded pillowy not punchy. i play a lot of different styles, so punchy is more my speed.

I like the thump. actually i slave into a bass amp with a sealed 2-15 cab for most of my low end and push the mids on my 4x12

Have you ever plugged in to a Mesa Thiele cab?
