Sentinel Posted June 26, 2011 Posted June 26, 2011 Yes, on the final day of our honeymoon - eight days by car around Britain - we reached London. And as some of you here recommended I found a couple of Hamer's in a shop on Denmark Street. Apart from those new old stock Studios - they said the price could be lowered a bit - they also had a Korina Vector for about £ 2.200. Here we are, on the tube from Heathrow to London. (You can also find my cheerful wife in the first photo, beside the shop.) And yes, we had a great time in England. (Although, btw, we didn't buy any guitars.)
belgian Posted June 26, 2011 Posted June 26, 2011 You both look very happy - even without buying guitars.
crunchee Posted June 26, 2011 Posted June 26, 2011 Congrats! Glad to hear you both had a great time! I hope the weather was good for your trip! I miss summer there (I was stationed in the UK for 5 years), drinking lemon shandy and snacking on Cornettos...and the diesel smell of the Tube and the way the wind would rush ahead of the next train, out of the tunnel! The prices on Denmark Street look familiar to me too...expensive! It's like going to a high-end US dealer numbers-wise, and simply swapping the $ sign for a L (Pound) sign...just like I remember it. Edited to add: They've got a Studio listed at the same price as a Bound and Crowned (or Victory'd) Studio Custom?!? Damn, they're worse at pricing Hamers than Willie's!
cmatthes Posted June 27, 2011 Posted June 27, 2011 I snagged a Nigel Tufnel Marshall promo poster in that shop the last time I was in London...many years ago!
gorch Posted June 27, 2011 Posted June 27, 2011 It looks like you had a nice trip and I hope you had a nice beer in the pubs too.
Ted Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 Guitars schmuitars - congrats to the happy couple! ++1 with Mitch above!!! And, I thoroughly enjoyed my School Days in England!
