Nathan Posted September 28, 2005 Posted September 28, 2005 9 out of 10 keyboard players have absolute shite taste in music.
Dasein Posted September 28, 2005 Posted September 28, 2005 LOL... so true, so true. They dress funny too!
Jeff R Posted September 28, 2005 Posted September 28, 2005 Let's elaborate ...Giving the Brits keyboards in the 80s was like giving the Indians whiskey in the 1800s.** cannibalized from a John Corabi post on Metal Sludge.com **

Disturber Posted September 28, 2005 Posted September 28, 2005 I actually prefer bands without of keyboards, but ... The Keyboard is gods gift to women. It allowed men to create music the women also likes to listen to. There are some pretty good keyboard based groups out there And don't forget brother Stevie W.
KorinaHound Posted September 28, 2005 Posted September 28, 2005 Jimmy Smith gonna kick y'alls ass.KorinaHound
wyldbil Posted September 28, 2005 Posted September 28, 2005 Keyboards? We don't need no stinking keyboards!
pesocaster Posted September 28, 2005 Posted September 28, 2005 I'm a fan of Hammond Organ and Piano ..... Think Deep PurpleSynth? I'm very picky about them and how they fit into the context of a song...and yea.. most have crappy taste in music... hahahaha
Rockola Posted September 28, 2005 Posted September 28, 2005 for synth, Keith Emerson makes me cringe. Personally, Greg Hawkes' Cars stuff is wearing thin. The Johannson guy that played with Holdsworth rocks. For old school synth listen to David Sancious' solo stuff, Jan with Beck & Wayne Famous from the Producers. Wayne played the usual swells and such but his solos sound like guitar solos.During the vinyl years I swore that the solo from "Who do you think you are" was Van but the CD sounds more like Wayne on a synth. Cool solo.S.
Turdus Posted September 28, 2005 Posted September 28, 2005 If ya gotta have Keyboards, then ya gotta have somebody like Paul Raymond. Although not the original keyboardist in UFO, he sure did make it look cool, by doubling on guitar.
serial Posted September 28, 2005 Posted September 28, 2005 The Producers were cool. Fun band live too.
blackfbiv Posted September 28, 2005 Posted September 28, 2005 It's not their taste I question (usually). It's their inability to sit out for a measure or two that bugs me.I'm sorry that I get to play 99% of the time (as a bassist), you don't have to play every note of every song. And lay off that left hand action, or I'll sit down and let you play the bottom end.Ack!Rant off!Dion
Tres Aardvarks Posted September 28, 2005 Posted September 28, 2005 I'm a fan of Hammond Organ and Piano ..... +1 for Hammond, and I mean WAILING Hammond..
Jack C Posted September 28, 2005 Posted September 28, 2005 I was trying to remember is the keyboard player for the Producers was the bald dork who wore a muscle T and played a keytar. Google confirmed it.
Rockola Posted September 28, 2005 Posted September 28, 2005 I saw an Oberheim controller at a pawn shop on Wilkinson Blvd. that had guitar strap buttons attached. Had to one of his. Imagine bouncing with a BIG OBX.
