benum47 Posted July 20, 2012 Posted July 20, 2012 Strange that they kept the middle pickup and sacrificed the neck pickup to make a smoker. One of the points of having a les paul is that creamtastic neck pickup sound. Any way..congrats on setting things to right. Looks great
LordsoftheJungle Posted July 20, 2012 Posted July 20, 2012 I've always gone after high-end clones of classic Fenders and Gibsons or I've gone with the smaller companys like G&L and hamer, but vintage Gibsons sure have that extra "something" that's just freakin irresistable!
BlueRedWhite Posted July 21, 2012 Posted July 21, 2012 Wow!!What a great looking axe!! Congratulations Len!!
bcsride Posted July 21, 2012 Posted July 21, 2012 Nice. Can you give us some detail on what was done. Is that just a buff? Or a clearcoat and buff? Or is there some refin? Also, as a curiosity, how is it wired/switched? I have a 3 humbucker guitar and have been toying with some ideas for different wiring/switching.
Len Posted July 21, 2012 Author Posted July 21, 2012 Thanks, BCR Greg should have some bench report shots of its work and progress throughout. The wiring is standard neck/bridge vol/vol, the top tone knob is now a master tone and the bottom tone knob is now a volume for the middle pickup which is on in any position and can be brought in at any time just by turning up the volume. Middle pup sounds fantastic btw. I really like this wiring.http://www.guitarelectronics.com/product/WDUHHH3T2201/WDU-HHH3T22-01.html
