Turdus Posted November 19, 2012 Posted November 19, 2012 I've not downloaded it yet. Did anybody review it here, and perhaps I missed it?
Disturber Posted November 19, 2012 Posted November 19, 2012 I gave it a spin when working at the office today. Can't say that I jumped up and down with joy. I sounded a bit "same ol', same ol'" to me.Then again, when was the last time the released something worth listening to? From a first listen it felt like they were going through the motions. It did not make me feel like I need to hear it again, but I'll probably give it another spin and listen in a bit more carefully.
BTMN Posted November 19, 2012 Posted November 19, 2012 I bought a deluxe edition of the cd on release day. I am totally biased and will love some, will like some, and not like some of it after time. I found 3 songs to listen to that are a few times in a row songs. Oh Yeah, and Lover Alot. Also I got a bonus cd with a song sung by Tom Hamilton I like. The Best Buy edition I bought comes with a dvd of some songs from the last date of the Summer 2012 tour. Johnny Depp joins them for Train kept A Rollin'. There are some cool interviews with them all too and some still photography gallery shots from when they were recording by Brad.
cmatthes Posted November 19, 2012 Posted November 19, 2012 They got shelled in the press last week (or two weeks ago?) for that CD.I'll have to listen before I buy...
gorch Posted November 19, 2012 Posted November 19, 2012 I had been jumping on deluxe packages of some publishings recently, but missed out on this one. If I had smelled it.
elduave Posted November 19, 2012 Posted November 19, 2012 I played Luv XXX on my show. It was the most instantly pleasing song I found on the record. What I've heard overall doesn't sound that promising. Don't think it will make my top 10 list this year. Still love 'em, they've still got it live.
tommy p Posted November 20, 2012 Posted November 20, 2012 I have every Aerosmith album through Pump and LOVE the earlier stuff. I didn't like the songs they were releasing as teases leading up to the full album but I gave it several full listens on Spotify. Despite the presence of Jack Douglas, still too slick and the songwriting is just not there anymore. There were 2 songs I sort of liked but even those pale in comparison to what Aerosmith used to be capable of. My 2 cents.
Turdus Posted November 20, 2012 Author Posted November 20, 2012 Sounds like the material is weak, eh? I'm only going to be interested in the hard hitting cuts. I can't think of any of their ballads that I've ever liked.Which should I download?
Jakeboy Posted November 20, 2012 Posted November 20, 2012 Lover Alot, LuvXXX, Oh Yeah, and Legendary Child. Perry singing Freedom Fighter is just OK.The ballads suck. Worth noting: Lover Alot and Oh Yeah made the current tour.....they have the old school 'smith vibe. I am glad I have the album.....Honkin on Bobo was better IMO.
tommy p Posted November 20, 2012 Posted November 20, 2012 Out Go The Lights is the pick of the litter for me. Others that are at least OK are Love XXX, Lover Alot, and Oh Yeah.
