Question

I got myself a Peavey Telecaster copy which I like quite a bit. Now there is a US-made Peavey VT for sale. Any HFC member played/owned one?

Thanks!

The USA Peavey guitars and basses are good solid built instruments. I've got a Peavey strat thats plays and sounds as good as any Fender strat I've owned and the prices can't be beat. They have worse resale prices than Hamers do.

If it's cheap buy it, you'll like it.

Growing up less than 200 miles from the factory in the late 70s early 80s, the local music stores always had as many Peavey guitars to choose from than all other brands combined. The majority of my friends that were playing guitar played Peavey because they were local products and could be had new for a few dollars more than the imports. I've probably played a hundred or so, and they've all been really good guitars.

My experience was primarily between '78 and '86 models. I don't recall any standing out as something truly special, but none were dogs either. If you're okay with consistently very good, Peavey is worth looking in to.

+1 on what's already been said. The USA EVH Wolfgang series is the only Peavey I can think of, where you might have to worry about inflated prices. Again, if this one is cheap and in good shape, go for it!

I had a USA Limited HB. ....GREAT guitar which was only sold to Atquinn to fund yet another Hamer.....criminally undervalued. Good sound and playability.they need more love for sure.
