velorush Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 Streaming at Rolling Stone ETA not more than a minute in to One Little Victory: Good grief what a difference! I can actually hear... instruments! Vocals! Wow!
HAMERMAN Posted September 28, 2013 Posted September 28, 2013 Wow - even streaming it over the web I think it sounds much better that the original CD did.
triodecr Posted September 28, 2013 Posted September 28, 2013 I finally bought this album earlier this year and couldn't make it past the 3rd song... thought I had a defective disc. I was actually able to listen to the remixes. What a huge difference! Their ears must have been really tired when they mixed and mastered and their monitors had to have been f*cked. The thing that blows me away are the people commenting that they like the original better. They need to get their hearing checked... or do i? Thanks for posting!
zorrow Posted September 28, 2013 Posted September 28, 2013 I hadn't taken the time to listen to this album. Now just did. I don't dislike it, but I wasn't hooked. I think my mind still is in the early Rush and never evolved. Will try to retry later though. However, with so many new things I do like popping around, I'm really having a hard time to keeping the pace.
Disturber Posted September 28, 2013 Posted September 28, 2013 I actually like the original version. It sounds very 90s. And very In your face, no gloves, all knuckles. Its mean!!!Like when they remastered NINs The Downward Spiral, just lost that 90s raw digital sound, didnt sound right. That said. Ill probably pick this up anyways.
LucSulla Posted September 28, 2013 Posted September 28, 2013 I remember how the whole mix just sucked in and became mush on "Secret Touch" when the song kicked in... This is so much better. I'm going to have to pick up the CD.
Dasein Posted September 28, 2013 Posted September 28, 2013 I remember how the whole mix just sucked in and became mush on "Secret Touch" when the song kicked in... This is so much better. I'm going to have to pick up the CD. This - i went right to that part to listen
Texas Fury Posted September 30, 2013 Posted September 30, 2013 Truthfully I wish they'd remix "Presto" instead and add some bottom end to that album.
velorush Posted September 30, 2013 Author Posted September 30, 2013 Truthfully I wish they'd remix "Presto" instead and add some bottom end to that album. Has anyone heard the remaster of "Roll the Bones?" I feel the same way about that album - great songs but really really thin! Hope to check our local store (i.e., WalMart - where we rednecks buy everything) tomorrow - hopefully they'll have a copy of "Vapor Trails." The day "Clockwork Angels" came out, I got there early and bought THE copy... they had another (few) the next week...
