Hey John

Answers to your questions:

1. Yes

2. No

3. Yes

You have a desirable guitar, but you're well into Boomer territory price-wise. With no pics and being a new guy, well.....

You'll need a Photobucket (or similar) account to post pics. Research the going rate for a dot-neck Cali, post up some good clear pics (we love shiny things), and see if the response isn't a little better.

Good luck with the sale. The Cali is my favorite Floyd guitar.

Above is correct. Haven't seen a dot neck Cali get anywhere close to that number ever (new ones in 1994 didn't go for that) and I've been actively in the Hamer market for @20 years. Boomerangs with ebony are considerably more desirable to most, although all Calis are 'overbuilt' for their price point. Fantastic guitars and I hare Floyds.

Whatever the top dollar amount for a dot-necked opaque finish Cali is, this one should fetch it.

Thats a badass guitar that in any normal world would easily be worth the $1600.

Yes, the market value truly does not match its ownership value.

But isn't that the attraction of Hamers in the first place?

If there were a Cali standard worth $1600, this one would be it...unfortunately I think the lack of interest at this price shows that the market just won't support that price.

But like I said, I couldn't even afford a too-low price right now, much less a fair one.

I do feel a little drool forming every time I look at it. That's exactly what a guitar should look like and be: red, sleek, glossy, and ready for rockin'.

Guys...thanks very much for both the feedback and throwing the pics up there. I have a photobucket account...and I think I see the link to post pics.

Thanks again! I'm looking forward to hanging around the forum and getting to know everyone...and if the guitar doesn't sell that's cool....I've had it since new.

Looks pretty new now!

For the record, I owned a bunch of Hamer Chaparal/Cali/one offs. The best playing and sounding guitar I owned was an 87 Chap standard with a rosewood board and a floyd.

I see a great value if you can look past the dated boomerang fretboard...

What's up with the Hamer logo?

Never seen one like that before with the tail of the R running off the black?

The black edging also looks tatty, bad day at the shop?

That's normal for the stadium logo. Both my Calis have the tail of the R running so far off the black you can't see the end of it, and my Chap has the tail going off the black (but not quite as far around).

I think that's because the Cali headstock is slightly smaller or thinner than the Chap.

Ahhh ok

Surprised to see this from Hamer, looks cheap to me and easily sorted by making the logo smaller?

A small detail maybe but comparing my diablo against it the diablo looks much much more professional.

Which is what I expect from hamer. I'd still have it though!

Not to worry, John. I personally love just staring at the headstock instead of PLAYING THE DAMN THING.

I'm pretty sure most of the six-on-a-side shredder-types with the stadium logo are like that, and it always looked just fine to me.

Correct. I've never heard ANYBODY complain about the headstock before the example in this thread, so I'd ignore it.
