zorrow Posted April 16, 2014 Posted April 16, 2014 Lately I've been babbling into a couple of jazz standards with a friend. Thanks to that, the itch to take the four trimester guitar program at the local Gypsy jazz school is coming back. That's actually a project I've had in mind for a long time already. I've just never found the drive to commit, but I know it will happen... someday. Maybe if I build me a guitar like this one, I'll feel compelled to do it? I love the shape and the look, though mine might have 7 strings, a pointier headstock (I have the design in mind) and will be of a different color -more natural.
Sugartune Posted April 16, 2014 Posted April 16, 2014 Pretty cool! Best of luck when you do it!Cheers!
BlueRedWhite Posted April 16, 2014 Posted April 16, 2014 That's a beautiful art nouveau style guitar, very organic look I'll DIBS on it Looks a lot like a balalaika after that you'll really gonna look like Lenin
Tres Aardvarks Posted April 16, 2014 Posted April 16, 2014 That is seriously funky! Would love to see the looks if you busted it out at a jazz open stage!!local Gypsy jazz school the what??? color me jealous!!!! where in Montreal is this??
ghamerinfrance Posted April 16, 2014 Posted April 16, 2014 Add a Charlie Christian and you may ask Dirk to order it directly in Germany
coolfeel Posted April 16, 2014 Posted April 16, 2014 That is really cool! I really dig playing guitars with character in contrast to the style of playing or music being played on it. Ahhh, the looks on peeps face when they hear my music being played on a reverse headstock shredder Custom Cali... We need to see some clips of you in action with it!

This is their website: http://www.ejmm.ca/ This their address: Art Neuf, centre Calixa-Lavallée 3819 Calixa-Lavallée Montréal, QC H2L 3A7 Just visited their site. They used to have a program consisting on two trimesters of rhythm guitar and two more for lead playing. I no longer see it.
Studio Custom Posted April 16, 2014 Posted April 16, 2014 If you bring that to a jazz gig you better bring it or you'll look like Mustaine did at his orchestra show.
gorch Posted April 16, 2014 Posted April 16, 2014 Add a Charlie Christian and you may ask Dirk to order it directly in Germany Yes, send it to me before you start playing it.
gorch Posted April 16, 2014 Posted April 16, 2014 Zorrow, do you already have some scribbles to display? You know we like pics.
zorrow Posted April 16, 2014 Author Posted April 16, 2014 If you bring that to a jazz gig you better bring it or you'll look like Mustaine did at his orchestra show.Oh! Did that turn bad? I knew the show was going to happen, but didn't follow up.Zorrow, do you already have some scribbles to display? You know we like pics.I do have some. Will scan and post. Still thinking about the builder though. I got three candidates in mind -Murkat, Scheithauer and a local guy who is into building this jazz stuff.
zorrow Posted April 16, 2014 Author Posted April 16, 2014 If you bring that to a jazz gig you better bring it or you'll look like Mustaine did at his orchestra show. Well, just googled around and it was really pathetic. Just posted a thread about it here: http://www.hamerfanclub.com/forums/topic/64923-oh-mustaine-didnt-do-well-on-his-symphony-interrupted-show/ I'ill work hard my side to avoid sucking that much in an eventual jazz gig, promised. In fact, I think I'll go to jazz school before walking around to show off such a piece of gear.
