Anybody have any ideas On How to remove a Musty Smell from aCase???

I just picked up a Bass Case and It has a Horrible Musty Stench...Like it was in a flood...Moldy smell...seller NEVER informed me of the smell...I tried Febreze...then Lysol..then I even tried some pet Enzymes.....I even left it out in the sun...Nothing....F'ing sucks.. I spent a lot of money on it. Someone on some other forum mentioned an Ozen machine....that fire restoration people have those...But where the hell am I going to find one of them that will let me use it for my bass case/?? My wife coughs every time I have the damn thing in the house...Can't even put my bass in it because it leaves a stench on the bass. Really a bunch of BS. Anybody have any ideas???

We used to smoke weed in the walk in freezer at the Hardees where I worked as a teen. Couldn't smell a thing.

I use an old freezer to smoke fish. Works real well.

There must be some nasty shit in there. Dump it. Otherwise, Nag Champa incense sticks, patchouly oil, carpet fresh, etc. but maybe that is all just masking some nasty bacteria, or mold? What about giving it a sponge bath, then leaving it open to dry real good in the warm sun. Seems like you'll have to wash it somehow. Good luck.

Is the case for a Fender bass, Warwick, Music Man...? Some brand of bass for which you can readily get a new case? Buy a new case. No matter how well you deodorize that case you will periodically get a whiff of the colorful bouquet of aromas that currently live in there. Its a Beetlejuice case, the smell will keep coming back. Put half a dozen febreze sheets in it or a febreze car sweetener then put Ol' Stinky out in your housing development annual garage sale.

There's always eBay! Get creative in the description. This case was used to carry Shaq's shoes, size 23 EEE. The aroma is Shaq Shoe Stank. Shaq had a shoe roadie.

20 years of Shaq Shoe Stank is some serious stank.
