BTMN Posted March 17, 2005 Posted March 17, 2005 OK, so like, Steve played for 2 1/2 hours. Each member played a solo. What A BAND!!! Great Stuff. Wish I knew more song titles and when it's instrumentals mostly it can be tough without a lyric to remember the name. I've seen Steve a number of times going back to the first time he toured with Schecky Lee Roth. I also seen him many times solo, ok 3. I only own two cds of his Passion and Warfare so suffice it to say I liked it but I cant give you a setlist. I can share some photos. Steve opened with a cool mirrored doubleneck Ibanez. Ripping it up L to R: Tony Macalpine, Steve Vai, Billy Sheehan, Dave Wiener Lil Sitdown music..... Lil Gitdown music.... Billy gettin' it on!!! Whose hand is where????? Eric Sardinas was the opening act. WOW!!! Ted Nugent, SRV, and Mississippi Delta flows through this Texas boy!
Mobster Posted March 17, 2005 Posted March 17, 2005 Great pics as always, Gene!Hey! Was that Neil Zaza in the second to last picture?
Travis Posted March 17, 2005 Posted March 17, 2005 Thanks for the pics. Got my tickets for April 10th, can't wait.
Michael_ Posted March 17, 2005 Posted March 17, 2005 Billy Sheehan is flat out unreal...but then again, so are all of those guys. That musta been a great show.
atquinn Posted March 17, 2005 Posted March 17, 2005 Sweet! I'm getting stoked for next Friday's concert in CT.-Austin
marcnorth Posted March 17, 2005 Posted March 17, 2005 cool pics, thanks. that dude can play. Billy can too.
Guest JackButler Posted March 17, 2005 Posted March 17, 2005 Gene, GREAT PICS!!!!!!! THANK YOU for sharing!Mobbie, I believe the guy on the far right is Dave Weiner. He started out as an intern or assistant to Vai at Favored Nations and wound up covering 7 string parts in the band! I've heard a couple of his tunes and he's a really good player in his own right. There's a tune of his on the Favored Nations sampler disc they handed out at Namm that is really cool.
savethematches Posted March 17, 2005 Posted March 17, 2005 Yo Travis,I may be at the St. Louis show. If I can make it, we should hook up for a brew.Marty
MCChris Posted March 17, 2005 Posted March 17, 2005 Ripping it up L to R: Tony Macalpine, Steve Vai, Billy Sheehan, Dave Wiener Whose hand is where????? These photos are Pam's worst nightmare LOL!
savethematches Posted March 18, 2005 Posted March 18, 2005 Got my tickets ordered today! Travis, I'll be wearing my HFC t-shirt. I'll try to talk my buddies into meeting at the lounge before the show. Shoot me an email and we'll kill a few Coronas. Anybody else going to the St. Louis show?
Travis Posted March 18, 2005 Posted March 18, 2005 Very sweet. I've got a buddy of mine from class going with me since the wife will be out of town. He said he'd rather sit up top and chil while listening to the music than stand up for a few hours just to be close. Those damn Canadians, they just don't know how to appreciate a good rock concert. Either way, if I can have a couple of cocktails and hear a great show, I'm good.
Tres Aardvarks Posted March 18, 2005 Posted March 18, 2005 Billy and Steve are coming to Boulder next month. I think I'm gonna have to go. Steve always has a top-notch band with him!
