Sugartune Posted November 27, 2014 Posted November 27, 2014 I have a couple of burning curiosity questions from the book. What happened to the Meisner brothers after Hamer? What builders from throughout the years are building now or were after leaving Hamer. Mike Shishkov and Terry McInturff, I'm aware of. Thanks!
sixesandsevens Posted November 27, 2014 Posted November 27, 2014 Tom Holmes, sort of. As I understand it, he was a contractor who built the early Sunbursts.http://www.hamerfanclub.com/forums/topic/8452-tom-holmes/
Sugartune Posted November 28, 2014 Author Posted November 28, 2014 Thanks for clearing that one. Couldn't find anything to verify that.
Armitage Posted November 28, 2014 Posted November 28, 2014 Dean Z. didnt work at Hamer.Yeah Dean Z took guitar lessons at the store Hamer started in, and they talked about building guitars like souped up Gibsons the way Gibson used to, but started completely separately.
serial Posted November 28, 2014 Posted November 28, 2014 I just sent a book to Curt's brother in NJ. Curt and some other Hamer guys worked for Washburn for a little bit after Hamer moved East as I understand it. I've been in touch with the other guy who made the original four digits and he still builds stuff from time to time but I got the impression not much.
