Bluesking Posted August 20, 2015 Author Posted August 20, 2015 This is all so fascinating, but somebody needs to let go of a BCR Jr, RFN.That is all.
vicjoy1945 Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 Here's a closeup of the headstock and wraptail on my BCR Jr. As you can see, the headstock quite a bit thinner than a typical Hamer. From what I understand, the bridge on this one is a 50s Gibson bridge that Greg installed. Sorry BK, I'm not willing to part with it. And when (probably more like "IF") he plans to sell it...I got dibs (per IM messages when it was bought) !!! She's a real beauty !!! Vic
currypowder Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 And when (probably more like "IF") he plans to sell it...I got dibs (per IM messages when it was bought) !!!She's a real beauty !!!VicI gotcha Vic. Don't worry.
tripp2k Posted August 24, 2015 Posted August 24, 2015 Real quickly...my TV Yellow doesn't have the white tuner thingys so I guess it's not a BCR. The headstock does appear to be narrower, however. I'll try and post some pics tomorrow but I guess I'll have to keep her in my lowly collection of miscreantes (sp?).
Bluesking Posted August 27, 2015 Author Posted August 27, 2015 Sell me one...........sell me one........
tripp2k Posted August 28, 2015 Posted August 28, 2015 I have no idea if this helps, but... (Edit: Every time I open the case, I just want to play the fuck out of this plank o' wood).
tripp2k Posted August 28, 2015 Posted August 28, 2015 A couple more...just because. This beauty likely sat in it's case under a bed before it showed up here. (The Korina is gettin lonely. BTW, these are crappy iPad pics taken after some wine)
cmatthes Posted August 28, 2015 Posted August 28, 2015 Correct - that is not a BCR Junior. That's a standard Junior model in TV Yellow finish, although I don't recall seeing too many with Grovers. Most had the "Snot n' Nickel" Kluson types.Great guitar, no matter what!
tripp2k Posted August 28, 2015 Posted August 28, 2015 Oh well, I guess I'll have to keep her. I've picked up 5 Hamers in the last few months and all are just phenominal guitars. Bought all without touching them. Love all of them. The folks who built these guitars should be proud of their work. I'm proud of their work.
specialk Posted September 4, 2015 Posted September 4, 2015 Bump for the cause. Someone help the brother out!
Bluesking Posted September 17, 2015 Author Posted September 17, 2015 Back online after a move to my final duty station...........now where's my BCR Jr?
