Q: HAMER: Standard? Explorer?

Hi -

Can anyone ID this guitar for me? I got it from Hamer in 2000 and the serial number stamped into the back of the headstock is: 543673 or 543873 or 543S73 - I just can't read the 4th number very well.

The guitar has been sitting in my vault since the day I got it and I'm now wanting to find a new home for it.

Thanks again for all of the info today - I really appreciate it and anything more you guys can add to it.

FYI - I originally got this guitar from Hamer for a documentary film I was producing on my former band (The Runaways) because my lead guitar player (Lita Ford) had a black Standard and later, a white one (serial #003 or something like that.) This, of course, was in the late 1970s.

Long story short, we've been clearing out our vault and getting rid of a lot of old gear - this guitar included.

Did you make Edgeplay? Great movie. I have it on DVD. A good insight to the 70s music biz.

Then I guess you are Victory Tischler, aka Vicki Blue, former bass player in The Runaways?

I just wanted to let everyone know that the guitar has been sold. You guys have been so awesome and I can't thank you enough for showing me how to ID it and helping it find a great (and appreciated) home.
