I´ve contact the seller and send Dave some information. The seller is the widow of a musician. Is she competent to answer all questions ? If Todde could take a personal look would be great to make it "sure".

Yeah Daniel, I believe it was 79 Euro, or just about $100 USD. Have invoice with guitar. 65 Euro is from the listing if I'm understanding it correctly.

Unless, someone got it for me... :) 

It appeared I may not have had access to the European eBay? Does one know if one has an account in US eBay, if you can still bid/buy? When I clicked what I thought was the 'Buy it Now' it asked for password info. The fact I couldn't read read/understand any of it didn't help. Lol!

Be nice if there was a way for ebay to display listings in English as well. It could have been a simple 'click' and 'pay', and be done transaction?

Dave, being french (so sorry, please forgive...), I used ebay since 1999 and at that time, this was only the ebay.com (us site)...

So, when I find something interesting, you have to change the adresse and see how it works...ebay.de, ebay.fr, ebay.co.uk, etc....

for translation, unfortunately, the only way  is either google (not very precise) or the HFC for help...

Hamburg was too far for help but I hope you may have more chance in the future...

Yep. The auction is over. I had an appointment to see the guitar this evening, but it was called off by email ... no explanation why.
Apparently a friend of hers is taking care of the sale and he actually called me up this morning to make the arrangement (I had left my number in the eBay message) to see the guitar. All very friendly and firm.

Just to make things clear - I did not buy it ...  :lol:  I was just gonna go and check it out for you guys.

Dave, your eBay login will actually also log you into the German site. I believe that is what you need to do. Then just hit the big blue button .. 

Well, let's see if it turns up again.

Hi,

the seller tell me that she will bring the guitar to Hamburg and there the guitar could be visited! so Todde, your part ;)!

She tell that a friend of her in Hamburg could answer to all questions she could not answer....

There has to be some sort of misunderstanding ....

I sent a message yesterday to the seller and asked if I could have a look at it and I left my number. She got back to me via eBay and asked me to contact her friend, who was handling the sale. She gave me his phone number. It was late and I thought that I would call him during the course of the day today. I didn't have to ... he called me this morning and made an appointment with me for this evening 7:30pm. I was on my way home from work this afternoon, when I got an email from the seller via eBay, that the meeting would have to be cancelled. No reason given. I checked eBay and the auction had ended with the guitar being sold.

So I figured, that was it. But I did try to call the guy up on both phone numbers he had given me, but he didn't pick up.

I was merely trying to help give all poeple here interested some better and more detailled information on the guitar. The address I was given was in Hamburg Harburg, which is a southern part of Hamburg ... only a 15 minute drive from my place. 

She or they both are or were maybe talking to more poeple at the same time.

I assume (from recent experience), that they have been contacted otherwise, told the others that they are next in line and that's when then bidding started.

Super playability - neck and frets ok
Electronics ok
Finish with wear
Condition 3+ (1 being perfect/mint and 6 being crapped out).

Dave, are you still interested ? I would contact again and try to see the guitar personally to give you a first hand personal impression.
Problem is, I could only go Monday evening earliest ... no time till then, my schedule is loaded...

Got it. I'd learned enough German to do that at least. 

Now, I need to figure out payment process. Argh! Hoping when I get home and open my purchase, all will be English. Or, is that wishful thinking?

Yes, I've done that to get this far. And did lookup on words to confirm. Pain on my older phone. 

When I went to my purchases it tells me option not available and to use 'classic site'. That then takes me to all German. 

I'll try at home and if need be, reach out to eBay support to hold my hand. ;) I want to try to take benefit of credit, etc. Thanks Steve!

Congrats! I scored a black Sunburst 2 years ago from Germany. A 1979. It's killer. Love the black ones.

If you receive a "Hammer  Sonnenbrand"...Then the ebay translating program has been implemented a bit too far....

However, happy for you...Enjoy now...and a good opportunity to learn German :)

Yes, I did buy it. Using Google Translate to figure it out. Yes, appears will need to be bank transfer. I will head over to the bank now to care for. Learning. Lol. Looks rather painless.
