gorch Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 Love returned for great HFC trading fun! Great shot man! In case you have difficulties on the wire transfer, let us know. There are ways to sort it out for you.
Hamer Dave Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 Ok, I went to the bank, and after seeing their conversion rate of currency and transfer fee, I figured I'd contact eBay, and see if I can pay via PayPal, or eBay. Now item states 'This listing (122110540219) has been removed, or this item is not available'? Can this be because I bought it? Not seeing the other items either that I recall seller kkamp34 had listed. I already checked out, but was in process to send payment. eBay suggested asking for an invoice to pay through them via PayPal or Credit Card, that bank transfer would not be covered by eBay's protection coverage? I sent seller a message via eBay asking for an invoice. Ay!!
donner Posted September 3, 2016 Posted September 3, 2016 Dave, bank transfers or cash are never ebay-buyer-protected. That´s always the case as you leave ebays system services. Appropriate judgement and a good portion of confidence are the least ;-) For int´l payments I would recommend to use http://transferwise.com Either you and the seller have to connect their bank accounts to tw. Then you can send each other money worldwide and change to many currencies at very low margins. My transactions (about 6 or 7 for guitars between US and Germany) have always worked out well and tw is very communicative and reliable. They´re much cheaper than paypal or regular bank transfers, as there you always have to pay upcharges on transatlantic transfers and exchange rates. If you wanna keep import charges low: Pay the whole sum in 2 tranches, immediately after one another. So you have a bill about a lower amount to send to your customs office. Because your import fees are calculated upon your complete payment (price for item + shipping costs). That´s a little tricky, but it works, as long as we don´t have TTIP ;-) Congrats & good luck, Jochen (the other one)

Thanks 'other' Jochen!

gorch Posted September 7, 2016 Posted September 7, 2016 Great its all sorted out now. Provide an update when it has arrived.
Hamer Dave Posted September 23, 2016 Posted September 23, 2016 She's back home. Arrived yesterday. I asked for a trinket to represent its stay in Germany. To my surprise she included the pre/early-Beatles 1962 Tony Sheridan & the Beat Bros 'My Bonnie' 45, and a German Hamer brochure. Too cool!!! After some elbow grease...
donner Posted September 23, 2016 Posted September 23, 2016 Seems it was worth all those 3 pages of HFC-giggle-wiggle ;-) BTW: Cool color!

gorch Posted September 24, 2016 Posted September 24, 2016 Great we've made it all sorted out eventually. The guitar is looking great! Definitely worth the effort. The Beatles single is just crazy. There might not be many of them around. Enjoy the weekend!
