bubs_42 Posted September 10, 2020 Posted September 10, 2020 Sorry I got cold feet, but here it is again. 1998 SG Reissues, the only non original part is the bridge pickup. Classic 57 in the neck, and a Duncan Custom Custom in the bridge. Either the OEM cover was used on the bridge pup or its been on there since close to new. I wouldn't have spotted the change if I had not opened up the guitar. Everything else is stock. Condition: 22years of a working guitar, but well loved and cared for. Some nicks, scratches, but no breaks or funny business. Frets have been gone through at Josh's Guitar Shop, he does all my guitars. This guitar plays with no issues, and sounds great. I think the CC is a great match for the 57 and adds that little extra push that is very pleasing with this guitar. Has the original tuners on the guitar, but if you like your SG's to neck dive then I placed a set of Grovers in the case. They are both perfectly aged so you will have your choice. Do me and you a favor, if you are looking for one of these buy this one. You won't have to worry about if the seller is being honest, or if the guitar needs anything, and you have my word that it isn't a brick. BUY FROM BUBS! Plus, you could let this damn thing set in the closet and make some money later, they are going up in price pretty consistently. OEM Case, Paypal, and shipping included. SOLD!!
DaveH Posted September 10, 2020 Posted September 10, 2020 Folks, these were good times for Gib's SG... If I didn't already have a '96 I would be on it. Someone should buy this. GLWS.
bubs_42 Posted September 10, 2020 Author Posted September 10, 2020 The struggle is real, well its actually all in my head. I believe this one will solidify the "Trinity" of guitars I should not have sold.
hamerhead Posted September 10, 2020 Posted September 10, 2020 For all the crap I've bought from Shawn over the years his descriptions lean to the conservative side, as his stuff is typically nicer than stated. It's his packing that sucks.
velorush Posted September 10, 2020 Posted September 10, 2020 I don't know, the Kiz' Senior was packed well (now eight years ago!). Maybe age-related mild packaging impairment?
bubs_42 Posted September 10, 2020 Author Posted September 10, 2020 I didn't hear the other guy bitching about my packing. Wait I did, but he wasn't a fan of the type of beer boxes that I used. Picky Bastards we are! LOL

velorush Posted September 10, 2020 Posted September 10, 2020 Seriously (and don't dare tell Bubs I said this), several deals with Bubs over the years with nary an issue, and he does under promise and over deliver - but you didn't hear that from me. The SG is killing me because 1. my first "good" guitar was an SG (about which I have detailed the destruction with "improvements" on these very pages, Wonderbar, anyone? Rattlecan refinish, anyone?) - I love the body shape / aesthetics, and 2. I absolutely know the neck would never work for me for more than five minutes. This one has the added terror of exactly the right color.
RacerX Posted September 10, 2020 Posted September 10, 2020 If only I had an SG... then I too could play like Jack like Duane. :-) Jack makes it look so effortless
cynic Posted September 11, 2020 Posted September 11, 2020 SG's are my favorite rabbit hole. I was late to the party but after buying my first maybe ten years ago eight others showed up. It's Gibson's top-selling guitar for a reason.
bubs_42 Posted September 11, 2020 Author Posted September 11, 2020 Yep, Jack is the shit. I'm really weak, still thinking of pulling it back down. Ever since I had kids, I really have guilt issues with having too guitars, and too much fear to keep going on my IH Scout Project. I come from a long line of selfish males that kinda just do what they want, and I keep a close eye on myself. I'm constantly pumping the breaks. Maybe if I just sat down and actually worked on my playing it would be different. I see the road, I understand the map, but the fire just isn't there as much as it used to me.
bubs_42 Posted September 12, 2020 Author Posted September 12, 2020 Little surprised this isn't gone yet.
