Kilroy is all about... Posted March 6, 2006 Posted March 6, 2006 LOL! the livermore looney strikes again....you're such poetry in motion or is it grace under pressure. all i know, it that a former owned 'kurtstuff' amp is 'dialed-in' and are always available at reasonable prices; i love my rivera S120 head... kilroy posts...to hassle the mermaid monitor!
killertone Posted March 6, 2006 Posted March 6, 2006 Yeah...I know you guys think I'm nuts and yes...I do go through alot of amps but...Like I always say...You have to "own" an amp and have it in your domain to truly be able to tell if it's going to work for you or not..Too often people grab an amp cuz it sounded cool in the store or it's what their current "hero" is playing only to find out it falls flat in the real world...Do the Splawns work for me?? On the gain side of things a resounding "hell yes!!" on the clean side of things....not so much but it's passable. Hence the reason I'm considering selling one of them..Man??...I feel like I'm defending myself for some reason?? oh well.. It's just good-natured ribbing bro! I understand what you are talking about. You just do it more than others!

guitfiddler Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 Hey Kurt... have you checked out the Krank amps? They seem to be new, not much in the way of reviews yet. I listened to some sound clips of the Krank Chadwick (50 watts) today, and am pretty impressed. Just wonder if you have any experience with them yet, in your quest?

Oh yeah...I really dug them at first and then after a few days of pounding on it..and becoming familiar with it...kinda left me flat but the clean channel for being on a high gain amp was outstanding!! Also one of the quietest amps I've heard..I think their ok but..something was lacking and kinda one maybe 2 dimensional but not 3D at all
