soli'd Posted October 21, 2021 Posted October 21, 2021 I posted this here once before but was happy to hold onto it when it didn't sell. Bought this here and have had it freshly re-tubed (matched quad of EL-84, serviced by Jeff Bakos in ATL), and I added a custom padded cover that fully wraps underneath. It's in great cosmetic shape and perfect working order. The cab shows a couple bumps here and there but nothing that breaks the tolex. Original footswitch included, switches channels and engages FET boost. I'm happy to keep it, this amp is a monster, but I'm offering it up here as there were a couple members here that expressed interest in the other East Club 18 thread recently posted. Available here at the HFC only at $1250 shipped CONUS, by Paypal or Venmo.[SOLD HERE ON THE HFC, THANKS!] I'll cover PP fees if that seals a deal, but I'm a trustworthy guy if you want to send fee-free pymt. This is probably the most bang-for-your-buck amp that you'll find at this price. I'm in the ATL area, will take $1200 cash-in-hand if you'd like to meet somewhat locally. Will also trade for the right Hamer, namely the right Studio or Mirage, looking only for medium to fat necks. Thanks for looking. Matt

stedge Posted October 22, 2021 Posted October 22, 2021 Hey, i like to look under the hood!….. You cant say you are not curious, Unless you have seen it, already! 🤣🦍🦖🎈🎸🎸
Travis Posted October 22, 2021 Posted October 22, 2021 Oh man, that seems like a great price for that amp. If I had an extra Mirage I’d be tempted to trade. But my I and II will be pried from my cold, dead hands…

HoboMan Posted October 24, 2021 Posted October 24, 2021 Are these cathode biased like the Buddas? Will 30 EAST watts get loud like 30 Budda watts? How does the drive channel compare tone wise to the Budda SD30? What's the ohm rating on the stock speaker?

Yes Yes Different, you get three voices, these have more gain, but you will always hear the same "cocktail" it is one of Jeffs amps. 8ohms
soli'd Posted October 24, 2021 Author Posted October 24, 2021 Thanks for the details, Bubs. Here a vid that's pretty representative of how the amp sounds with humbuckers/ solidbody. Skip to around 6:30 to bypass the verbose tour.
HoboMan Posted October 24, 2021 Posted October 24, 2021 I'm thinking about it. I REALLY shouldn't be spending this kind of money right now. If I did buy it how fast can you ship?

I have three cabs to try it though, Avatar 2x12 with Celestion CL80s, 2x12 Jet City cab with Eminence speakers and a 1x12 Budda cab with a Celestion 70/80. That should give me enough variety to test it out to see if I want to swap out the speaker.
HoboMan Posted October 30, 2021 Posted October 30, 2021 Received the amp today. I have to say that soli'd was GREAT to deal with. Fast shipping and great communication. He even followed up with me today to make sure the amp arrived safely. Thanks again!

And if you could get a high production quality YouTube video review of the amp posted, that would be great, too…. 😉

Played the amp last night and this morning. It' sounds fantastic. More "American" type tones mostly due to the speaker. The amp sounds HUGE. Probably due to the size of the combo cab. Very big sound. The East channel is my favorite so far. Not sure what to compare it to. It is much warmer than a Marshall type amp. I don't have any Fender amps but I would put it more in that camp. Then I connected the amp to a small 1x12 Celestion loaded cab and it sounded WAY more British. I already have marshall sounding amps so I was looking for something different. This amp fits the bill. I have a lot more good things to say but I'll post after my gig.
