kizanski Posted February 17, 2022 Posted February 17, 2022 I have advice but it mostly entails buying new batteries.
Dave Scepter Posted February 17, 2022 Posted February 17, 2022 I normally just use the Energizer 9 volts but now wondering due to the evolution of newer Lithium batteries, if there are any "real" rechargeable 9 volt Lithium batteries 🔋? Cuz THAT would be steller! Time to Google ~
tomteriffic Posted February 18, 2022 Posted February 18, 2022 I looked into it and decided not to just because of the initial expense, as well as the voltage/current/runtime trade-offs. I got a Volto which was fine for running a small integrated multi pedalboard for several hours but current output was low enough that it would occasionally make switching of the effects glitchy or uncertain. Stumbled into that recent SDOD on the Pedal Juice and that pretty well put the rechargeable 9V idea to bed. That said, i have a little adapter cable that has a 9V clip on one end and a standard pedal power plug on the other. Could be handy one of these days. hamerhead Posted February 19, 2022 Author Posted February 19, 2022 Dammit about the '"9V" is the physical size/shape, not the actual voltage' thing. Apparently smoke detectors don't like 7.2 or 7.4 volts....
gorch Posted February 19, 2022 Posted February 19, 2022 We used to do for children toys, where plenty of reloads were needed. Haven‘t used them since. For the most part batteries do it nicely.
Steve Haynie Posted February 20, 2022 Posted February 20, 2022 Can Eric Johnson tell a difference in the tone of a smoke detector based on which batteries are used?Â
