topekatj Posted July 25, 2022 Posted July 25, 2022 No affy. In.ter.est.ing. Ain no BCR. I’d love to play this one. https://reverb.com/item/58321411-hamer-usa-les-paul-junior-2005-blonde
burningyen Posted July 25, 2022 Posted July 25, 2022 Based on the COA it has a 4xxxxx serial number but was completed January 4, 2005. Looks like a nice one despite the ding.
Hbom Posted July 25, 2022 Posted July 25, 2022 That seller had a nice Korina Jr. too. It sold in an hour. 2k.
Hbom Posted July 25, 2022 Posted July 25, 2022 I thought about it. But I'm down sizing so I messaged a friend. It sold before either of us could make up our minds. They don't last long on the open market.
DaveL Posted July 25, 2022 Posted July 25, 2022 In keeping with my history of making snap irrational decisions, I grabbed it... I liked that it was pretty clean (other than that ding of course) might clean that up but we’ll see I’ll do a catch and release with some of my other p-90 guitars once it arrives and all is cool.

Let us know how you like it! OTOH, referral/finder dibs!
mirrorimij Posted July 26, 2022 Posted July 26, 2022 Specs are slightly different than the BCRs……..no thinner headstock or strip tuners. They ALL shipped with the Wilky I think Greg swapped those per customer request with vintage or repro vintage. Nice guitar. Not many of those.
topekatj Posted July 26, 2022 Author Posted July 26, 2022 Hey @mirrorimij: The seller of this guitar also had a nice Korina Jr. listed that sold, albeit it was a two piece body. Not to threadcrap on, um, a thread I started 😉, but how common were one piece body Korina Jrs.: Most, half, some or a few? Not many Korina Jrs. come up for sale period and they aren’t usually one piece bodies. Thanks
DaveL Posted July 26, 2022 Posted July 26, 2022 And here’s my question mirrorimij.. the finish on this is “tv blonde” but it’s different from what we usually see on the 90’s p-90 specials. (The more green, mustardy ones). Is this a different finish? Love it, whatever it is... EDIT: Arrived safely, looks great. Aside from the ding it’s really clean, nicer than I was expecting... thanks topkatj for the post Dibs hereby granted a little burnt from the workday... pics and tone report coming soon.

mirrorimij Posted July 26, 2022 Posted July 26, 2022 Regarding the finish……they all seemed to vary batch to batch as far as color, transparency etc. I think it was just the recipe that day. It was probably mixed and shot as a one off instead of part of a batch. As far as Korina body pieces …..one piece was always desired if possible but two piece was allowed. You shouldn’t see more than 2 piece body on transparent finish. It is difficult to find large Korina boards without defects. I have a Korina Standard with a one piece body and only 2 or 3 others of those exist. I’m changing my answer…….that finish looks totally opaque. Maybe a special request? I’m not sure but it’s a little out of the range from others I’ve seen.
