No affiliation.  This listing was up for an hour, it said, before it sold.  I was looking at it while it was still live, but it sold out from under me.

An ebony board with boomers!  Ah, easy come, easy go.  This is what I get for only checking Reverb six times per day.

Ouch.  I'm not normally into Chap basses, as the body is a little too small and the bass-side horn a little too short for my liking, but this coulda changed my mind!  Maybe.  Just keep in mind that it's maple necked with a maple body and a ebony fretboard, so it's bound to be bright-sounding, plus it's got gold hardware, so maybe we all missed a bullet there.   ;)

I’m a fan of those.  Two Chap Basses were my main gigging staples before I switched over to a Cruisebass, thanks to Thundernotes 18 or so years ago.

Really great basses and that was probably half what it should have sold for!

Oh, there’s a good chance some flipper will put it back up for twice what he paid for it.

That said, I would have pulled the trigger on that fast than Alec Baldwin.  Fuck!

Interesting ‘jumble’ on the controls layout— is there a reason why they’re not in the basic four knob diamond shaped configuration?

I think that the three controls together are volume, bass and treble, with the separate control acting as a mix control between the two pickups.
