  1. Past hour
  2. No, that's a real tire with tread on the sidewall... lots of 4x4s use them... this photo is from the Kenda website
  3. That actually seems like a reasonable price. Just $1K more than the perennially for sale Whitford Eclipse.
  4. So is it is, or is it ain't, an AI dream to put tread on the sidewalls?
  5. I would have sent the Newport back just for spite and told the shove it.
  6. Dave Wintz is smiling in Heaven. I know it.
  7. Today
  8. Not cool. RIP, brother ...
  9. I know I misspelled it but I did my best to phonetically pronounce what Pepper said. There is a lot to look at besides that but it starts at 13:20. I've met Pepper a few times and he's just the most congenial, mud on his hands guy you could meet. So I watch for videos with him to pop up. I was just cruising through and then he mentioned the pickups from Jeff R. I remember Jeff posting something about working with Pepper on a pickup so I was like, "Gotta Share!!." as I do.

  10. I've used a couple of versions of the irig and they have always worked well. Could something be better? of course but the iRig has worked well for me.
  11. Yesterday
  12. Nope. Absolutely love my laptop, as a matter of fact, I just loaded tons of music and more than 2TB of movies to watch/listen while on the road/camping BTW, you do realize that you can buy a full size keyboard for that laptop right?... even Bluetooth, and you can lie back & type to your little heart's desire. https://a.co/d/0g7KHYqi
  13. Who else has a brand of car they crash often? New direction?
  14. I and my brother have an unfortunate history with VW's. I love them. I've owned 2 sciroccos. A variety of bugs, both topless and with tops and a Rabbit. 77 version. One carman Ghia for a short time and my brother had a couple of vans and other sundry vw's. But... We wrecked them all. Without fail. Every VW I have ever driven I have had a wreck in. Mostly not my fault. Not all most 80%. I finally decided that as much as I love them THEY don't love me and haven't driven one in 40 years. Only one minor fender bender since then.... You can make of this what you will... Hahahahhahahhahhhaaa
  15. Welcome to the HFC! πŸ˜€
  16. I showed the video to my Ex-wife because she's a hard-hearted-bitch and she started tearing up. This was a cold-hearted experiment I conjured up. And this proves that AI knows how to tug on our heartstrings. And that is scary. I'm a sympathy cryer and she and I have so much to be sad about. So we did. That is scary.
  17. Another Eddie/Wayne creation if I’m not mistaken. St Paul Civic Center 1982
  18. I would wager it is not to far from the truth as I have read similar accounts over the years. To me this was one of Eddies contributions to rock guitar. The man was, well, The Man. πŸ˜ŽπŸ‘β€οΈπŸ
  19. God I hate laptops. Old School here with full keyboard.
  20. A brief history lesson or just reminiscing?... another reading link β€œI gave Eddie Van Halen the parts, and the next time I saw the guitar he had used a spray can to paint it white with black stripes”: How Charvel spawned a custom shop revolution – and became the premier guitar maker in the age of shredders | Guitar World https://share.google/ueMlja37yOCNXBwet
  21. I have one for the experts: I am actually playing again. The band is using MultiTracks to build and share setlists, then I am able to use their ChartBuilder to practice and develop my parts for each song. I'm using an iPad (A16 if it matters, it likely will if I ever get to the point...) to run ChartBuilder both during practice and performance (synced with other band members). The question (I'll throw in today's Python reference: "GET ON WITH IT"): with the guitar plugged into the iPad, I would like to combine the ChartBuilder playback with some sort of amp simulation. All of this should be portable as much of my practice time happens during lunch at work. For options, I find: iRig HD X Apogee Jam X The reviews on these seem to be either 1 out of 5 or 5 out of 5 (for both), which concerns me as I deal with IT all day at work (I am a finance guy. How did I get here?) so I the last thing I want to deal with when I have a guitar in hand is some sort of technical fiddliness. Has anyone used either of these or any other portable interface that works and works well? The advantage I see of the iRig over the Apogee is if the amp sims are good, one can use the second iRig output to go to FOH. Apogee apparently has no such facility.
  22. So I looked up Arthur on YouTube so I could get more than a snipit in time. It's obvious to anyone who plays guitar that AI hasn't caught on to rhythm and fingers on strings. But if you concentrate on the face and voice, it's over. And it would seem song writers may be in trouble. You will always have a star but that star may just let AI write their hits in the future.
  23. Yup, it's all good... I'm just happy people are participating 🀣
  24. Yup, same here, I was fooled by this one as well... thought the dude had an incredible voice 😳
  25. Okay, I was fooled by this one just now. But then I clicked to see the full video and went to a subscribe page. I looked at some pictures on the profile and obviously AI. https://www.facebook.com/reel/1429554912335225 ETA: At least someone in the comments let us know it's AI "Gravel & Grace is a viral music project featuring Americana, gospel, and Christian songs centered around themes of redemption, grief, and faith. The project is uniquely known for its AI-generated fictional persona, Arthur Hayes, whose voice and weathered appearance are entirely synthesized using generative artificial intelligence. !!!!! Bamboozled !"
  26. Yes, Love them!.. I've been to quite a few... I've had bugs of different types/models in my youth... I guess I was trying to relive some of my awesome memories of driving around in my old van, but the truth is, I came to the conclusion that I don't have the wherewithal to keep searching for parts, wrenching on these things anymore... I have enough car projects around here as it is 🀣
