Few things working in my favor: I'm still really enjoying trying to learn bass [and am now shopping for a bass amp!] Rebuilding my few remaining guitars has been a lot of fun and provided great results (Rios + Kiz' Senior = delicious) (Lollars + Gibby = magical, chewy, semi-hollow goodness) (Suhr ML/ML/V60LP + VHRRI Strat = great combination [though I'll have to argue with Mr. Suhr's contention that a 0.10 μF (not the Hamer-approved 0.010 μF, but the vintage Fender 0.10!) cap is the best choice - too much signal going to ground. It actually causes a noticeable output drop!]). I just acquired this Stratastic device: The biggest temptation to the challenge so far has been that purple sparkly Cruisebass on eBay. Purple! Sparkly! eBay!

If you mean the black one, I'm working on it, but we're still working out the delivery. If you are still having problems with a case, try Musicians Friend. Find a MF brand hsc that will fit, have the seller order it. MF will ship for free so you don't get stuck with shipping both ways. Won't be a Hamer case, but safe shipping container and a box too. edit:GC ships free to AK too, but not as easy to deal with as MF.

I am enjoying my Holdsworth Signature Fatboy 2. My only beef with it is the neck is sensitive to humidity changes, so I've had to get after the truss rod a fair amount. But it was a fresh from the factory order, so perhaps it will settle out over time. The S22 pickups sound fine to me, both split and in humbucking mode. This one has caught my eye:

The common denominator in all of the Carvins I've detested over the years were those 22 pole pickups. Horrible.

Oh wait until volume two!
