I feel similar. Fortunate to have the great playing/looking guitars in my brood. Then I question myself as to why I'm so obsessed with OTHER shit. My face glued to the screen, constantly looking at Reverb or Kijiji or HERE!!! WTF is wrong with me? I played way more when I just had the simple basics. 1 guitar, 1 amp, 1 Fulldrive 2 to drive it all home. Then again, my significant other wasn't in the picture (well she was, but away at school), nor was my 15 month old daughter. Aside from my bands which each take a night or two per week (which can be a lot some weeks), the only time I get with my guitars is after everyone's in bed. Playing a little 1 watter at low volumes when I do plug in, or falling asleep on the couch strumming as the TV glows in the background. Yet I feel it's necessary to find more shit. I regret taking my time for granted when I had a lot more of it (too many naps!) and I regret not utilizing what I have to play, rather than surfing for gear porn. Stupid regrets....

96 Mahogany Standard for sale! Recently acquired two Hamers that are really making me smile and play a lot more, plus I have an Ultimate coming down the road. Time for this one to move on and get some more loving. Got it this year in Feb. Plays great, great condition, etc. EDIT: Stock JB and '59 have been replaced with DiMarzio 36th Ann. Cream/Cream in bridge and Cream/Black on the neck, both with cream surrounds. Those pickups are great in this beast! Still have the black surrounds. You can have them with it, if you wish. One pic in there is from the previous owner. The one with the black surrounds and chrome pups. Some hameritis, and a couple of small finish bubbles (my '05 Studio Custom is starting to do that too..?) EDIT: Weight comes in at 9.8 on the bathroom scale. With OHSC (I think, comes with the original hang tag for the case too! I know that is super desirable) Looking for $1550 + ship + PP (gifted). While we're straying off topic, I'd always prefer a Porsche over a Ferrari. You can actually drive a Porsche in the real world. A Ferrari is totally neutered. Don't have either, but maybe someday that Porsche will come along. I'd probably still drive that Ferrari though...

Perhaps an ignorant question here, but if that's used as the prototype/test bed for the pickups, will there be variations between how they'll sound in that and a finished Ultimate, with a maple top and finish? Would it change the resonant properties, and perhaps how the pickups respond?

Yep. Makes the decision a whole lot easier. Not to ruffle any feathers, but for this initial run, anyone who orders outside of those original specs should probably be subject to the regular pricing (as yet to be fully determined). Its all about volume with minor variables to make it possible as such a fantastic price point. Basically echoing what you said Chris. Think we need more echos, as the message continues to get lost, apparently.

It's great to see the crazy high amount of interest for Mike's work, though the speculation is probably better served if kept to yourself. Do we have to increase the pressure levels any higher than it might already be? Admittedly, I've had a lot of the same questions that have come up, but I'd rather hold off until things unfold and the ground is hit running. Not to mention having one in my hands. That's going to be fantastic. Speculation that I'm sure we can all agree on.

2nd run here too. Keeping it simple to the ultimate specs. Tobacco burst. Now to wait the 9 months or so. Like a whole other baby. Can't wait for the first "ultrasound" shots.
