  1. He was one of the acts at my first concert too. Anyone else there? Molson Park in Barrie - "Seven Bands for Seven Bucks". I only remember a couple of others, Gowan, Haywire, David Wilcox. Jeff Healey ended up quitting in the middle of the show after warning "if someone throws another beer bottle at the blind guy, I'm outta here." Some dick did (again!) And off he went. About the only thing I recall as a 10 year old. R.I.P.
  2. Welcome to whoever joins and happens to read this thread. Otherwise, hi everyone else that's always posting here anyway
  3. Looking fantastic. Nice shots !
  4. Yeah, that's a real Gibson. Why they'd think it to be fake, not sure. Counterfeiting a Studio seems like a waste of time anyhow.
  5. Got a kick out of this guy doing his thing and ripping apart a Chibson.
  6. Yep. Nasty. Nothing but the smell of smoke and some animal hair as the worst for me.
  7. What? Are these special picks? I just use Dunlop nylon .73s and .88s! Or cat tongue, same thicknesses.
  8. Both are pretty good, but Mr. Moore takes the cake. Or mudpie. Or whatever the prize is.
  9. It's not the same one. That Halifax one has been up (&re-upped) for ever. Since at least Feb. He was looking only to sell and was holding fast on his price of 1500 CAD ($1333 greenbacks). Originally he wanted $2500 for the guitar and amp. No idea if it's flamed or not. I didn't get too deep in discussion with him or ask for additional pics. I was trying to haggle down into my budget zone, basing it all on the thought that it was opaque. Nice Z to go with it, though. Red delicious.
  10. I don't find the Snarks to be accurate enough for my OCD. That Boss one is intriguing though.. I've never actually tried a strobe. Why are they so expensive?
  11. No way. I really don't hear anything resembling a rip off. Not saying they're not guilty of other borrowing, but this I don't believe is that. Seems like an over inflated self compliment for the Spirit dudes to call it a rip off. What they had was a steaming pile of soggy acid tabs. I'm not even much of a zepplin fan, not for any reason other than I haven't explored them. Sacrilege to some, I'm sure.
  12. You think she'd be happy with that quote? Maybe just the "need more amps" part, not the 20k part.
  13. No idea, but yeah very cool. Make it work.
  14. Drool! That one makes me swear unnecessarily.^^^^
  15. I had the same thoughts about the test bed, but in the end, Mike's a pro. He's got all angles covered whether we know it or not. Those guitars loaded with these pickups are going to be a real sonic treat. How lucky we are to be a part of it all.
  16. A couple for me personally - Les Claypool (Primus) - Fat Mike (Nofx) - Chris Murphy (Sloan) - Brian Wilson ..and a couple that I'm not really fans of but they are pretty good at it.. - Tom Araya (Slayer) - Bryan Adams (mostly plays bass now) - Cheryl Crow (Mixes it up)
  17. I always bring two, only use one. I rotate what I bring, but more and more I'm thinking I should stick to having a main axe for the most part.
