  1. Queen - A Night at the Opera
  2. sold it but thanks for thinking of me!
  3. well, Kaman is a big corp, but it seems to me that Takamine is in Japan and Hamer usa parts are in CT, but who knows
  4. IMO the dealer is selling a fish story, total BS , that is a 1994 Daytona if the serial # is correct, it also looks like it has different bridge saddles, are there better pics available?
  5. I used to play w/ this dude who would rob his moms closet on gig night, she would get so pissed , he'd get beer all over these really expensive blouses and ruin them LOL. This was the 80's, cut to today and he thinks he's Big and Rich, what a trend whore !
  6. I'm looking for a pair of minihummers if ya want to move em
  7. you mean there are no weapons of mass destruction?
  8. it really does feel better, you can put the heel of your hand up in the back so to speak, I'm sure the shelf will stay but the cut on Steves DO make a difference. remember I have a Superpro and even the big shelf is not an issue for me
  9. great recording, the dry tone and black denim shirt made a huge impression on me !
  10. Ken, you've got a cool guitar, I hope nobody thinks I'm dissing the heavy guitars tone , it's usually a little faster sounding , not as spongey, but I do stand for 3-4 hours 3-6 times a week and I just can't take that in my Daytona
  11. 8.75-9 lbs IIRC
  12. BD I owned the seafoam before DavidE, I feel exactly like you do about that one
  13. I've only played it straight into my Deluxe Reverb at living room levels , but I really like em so far, vintage "refined" seems to be where I usually gravitate toward and these are in that mode, but I must say the virtual P-90 has me wondering if I should order the V V strat style ( guess I made the DiMarzio switch and never noticed LOL ) I'll post a gig report
  14. the thing w/ Daytona is that there all over the map in weight and neck size. I also think of the hardtail now and then , wonder what the neck is like
  15. it's got a neck similar to the 65 closet classic neck I tried, very similar to the Suhr Classic I tried , bigger than both my previous Daytonas. The real wow factor is the weight. I like light strat styles, this one is 7.25 lbs, very light. The first D I got was almost 10lbs, the second I got was a little lighter but had a smallish neck, this one is right in that zone. I swear, I'm a strat style guy and need to just accept that, I played a reissue 64 strat for years as my main axe , this Daytona seems to be the one!
  16. thanks to GregC for a flawless transaction, my third Daytona arrived today and this is what I have bben looking for 7.25 lbs of snappy goodness. neck could be bigger ( my old T-51 is still the bigneck Hamer champ ) but still sizeable and good feeling. funny cause I just played a Suhr classic and the EJ strat last sunday, this dusts em both at 1/4 and 1/3 the respective prices! thanks to Admiral B for his sage advise
  17. I would say not as bright , or maybe more full is a better description. Lot's of fat low mid w/ about the same output in BBQ , I have one in the bridge of a Mirage II, it's just about the best bridge humbucker I've ever used, really good for aggressive rock
  18. on a Newport you are limited to chrome rings
  19. this is vintage natural
  20. natural! IMO there is too sharp a change between the colors on a jazzburst , it needs more blending for my taste
  21. I echo Poe's McNaught experience
  22. eww, those things are garish IMO, the entire JET line is too over the top for me, try a McInturff for real NC guitar making
