PSA - It's Raining Daytonas!
scottcald replied to velorush's topic in For Sale - Wanted to Buy - PIF - eBay & Other PSAs
If I didn't have a 90s Phantom, I'd get this. Also, if it had a sustain block, I'd get it. -
No silent stage BS here. 880 watt tube amp.

Was that to drive all of Yngwie’s cabinets? -
Hamer, The Most Undervalued Guitar, Shane Theriot.

Sweet. I haven't seen his 3 pickup, very cool! I love that Shane doesn't feel the need to hop on the latest greatest fad brands or act like only Gibson and Fender exist. And also that the wear on his guitars is real. -
sustain block variations (1978/ 1981)

I guess the one I have is for his physical store. He used to sell guitars and amps but doesn't seem to anymore. -

I just looked and Mann lists them though some list as out of stock: https://www.johnmannsguitarvault.com/parts/bridges/fixed-bridges/hamer-guitars/ -
Tom Bukovac & John Oates “One On One” Lots of fun.
scottcald replied to Saul Goodman's topic in Hamer Fan Club Messageboard
John Oates downplays his talents a bit here, but I think his songwriting, singing and playing are great. Every interview with him, he seems like a cool dude and would have time for you if you bumped into him. -
Well, in the end, a tool is a tool. Even if she's not holding the wire in her hand to guide it, it's her years of experience, notes, knowledge and direct winding or more likely guidance to others under her that create the pickups. I don't feel there's any reason to think these days that the person who wound the pickup wrote out the label. It's going to be more efficient for some admin folk(s) to do all the labels and slap them on boxes and distribute them to the proper area than everyone has a bunch of boxes and labels individually. I mean at some point they could just add that as their own font and print them out.

Looks pretty sweet. Congratulations!

Screw the $800 PAF pickups. Literally.
scottcald replied to Saul Goodman's topic in Hamer Fan Club Messageboard
The beginning of it he makes a big deal about the actual winders that were used back then, etc. Who cares? If I have Norm Abram's saw or hammer, doesn't mean I can build anything like him. Toneriders are like $60 each and sound pretty darned good -

Saw the title and thought you were adding wicks to your guitars. 🤣 Can you describe its aromatic voice? -
You could buy white tuners then just get the tuning keys themselves in red and blue
-
Does the pattern go on the back too or is it just white?
-
BTW, that wasn't disparaging, just what I immediately thought of when I saw it.
