  1. I predict you'll get some resistance to that opinion.
  2. Some of those isolated Ox clips are on YouTube. I've always considered Led Zeppelin II to be a primer on hard rock bass guitar.
  3. Sometimes I think we're the same person LOL!
  4. Some type of OD/distortion, wah, and delay. Things like flangers, phasers, filters, octavers, tremolos, etc. are all season-to-taste effects IMO.
  5. Sure did, all the way out to LaGrange, Illinois. My guitar shall sit in a FedEx vehicle all weekend. Wonderful.
  6. 1:49 PM, left FedEx location. I wonder what the chances are that it'll get here before the office closes.
  7. ditto..... their tracking system is abismol and the fact that their drivers are independent rather than company emps bugs me. delivery until 9PM at night is a joke...communication between driver and expediting is lousy, the drivers never have the intl. paperwork with them that they need. delivery times are almost always rescheduled. theyve never lost or damaged anything of mine, I just dont like the operation as a whole. unless someone provides me with their fedx account I wont ship with them. I've never had any troubles with ups, though I have read horror stories here and there about broken guitars etc. I know my ups driver, and when he is in my area... I can contact him anytime if I am leaving for the day with instructions so a guitar doesnt sit out in the rain or cold. delivery times are for the most part on time. I had 2 gmps come in about a month ago and they were shipped via DHL. shipped ground on a monday and delivered on wednesday !!! new york to wisc !! wow !!.... with ups it wouldve been friday, fedx the following monday. I was kind of paranoid when I found out both guitars were in one box... but all was fine. I would consider using them in the future. though the online tracking was crappy. The FedEx/UPS/DHL argument is not unlike the Dunlop/Schaller argument with regard to straplocks. If you choose one and it never fails on you, then it's the cat's pajamas and there's no reason to stop using it. If and when it does fail, it's the worst thing ever and you switch to the other option.
  8. Blizzard is indeed happening, no Out For Delivery message yet on the FedEx tracking screen. That guitar will be in splinters by the time I get it on Monday.
  9. Don't tell me that. They're supposed to deliver a Studio to my office tomorrow, and there's a blizzard comin'!
  10. Did you meet him recently? Seems he's gone the way of Zakk Wylde of late and adopted a pro wrestler persona (not to mention a "market yourself at all costs" mentality).
  11. That's the only other Slayer album I have. Bostaph is indeed a badass.
  12. This too is my favorite Slayer album. I prefer the slower tempos. I did a phone interview with Dave Lombardo for the college newspaper when SOH came out and in exchange for the tear sheet I got free tix from the label rep for the Slayer/Motorhead/Overkill show. The opened with the title track and it was EPIC!
  13. Yeah, but do they say "Hamer Rocks Hard" ???
  14. Agreed. The only input we've gotten from the other lawyers around here has been to discourage a raffle. LOL
  15. No shooting necessary, I agree with you 100%. Bruce ain't exactly an EMG/locking trem kinda guy. The color suits him though LOL. Ultimately it's Ted's decision, but simply giving it to someone would be a BAD idea IMO. Of course it wasn't such a great idea for Ted to advertise that he had it before he had a concrete plan on what to do with it, but that cat's long out of the bag. Personally, I have no interested in owning this guitar. Wouldn't enter a raffle for it, wouldn't bid on it on eBay, wouldn't accept it if Ted offered it to me as a gift. There is nothing about it I like other than the body shape. Trust me when I tell you that the neck is essentially a fingerboard with a finished back (and the word is that Prince sent it back because the neck was too big LOL). I play my guitars, I do not buy them to collect or to flip for a profit.
  16. I can't tell if this is sincere or a shot (or a sincere shot) but I'm just trying to offer up info, because people here deserve some answers. However, I'm probably close to (if not already) doing what I bag on others for doing with regard to the goings-on at Hamer—speculating about things I have no idea about. All I know for sure is that the idea of raffling off the guitar has been bandied about incessantly and the same conclusion is always reached—that no one wants to deal with the legalities involved with ensuring that the process remains completely above board. And I'm 99% sure the guitar is currently in Ted's possession. As for what happens from this moment forward, I do not pretend to know.
  17. Really, it's totally up to him, and always has been. If/when he decides to do something with it, that's when something will happen.
  18. Have you not been reading the posts to this thread today? The answer is no, it probably won't ever be raffled off.
  19. BINGO! And they aren't confined to this place either.
  20. Yeah, what's the story with that? It's like any other sweepstakes. To do it totally above board there has to be a list of the rules, a list of the winners needs to be made available, there needs to be witnesses to the selection of the winner, the list goes on. Trust me, when we do giveaways of any sort here at Playboy, just getting all the Terms & Conditions squared away through the legal department is a morass like you can't believe. If all ducks aren't in a row and someone pissed off that he didn't win the prize wants to start an investigation, suddenly you're looking at a mail fraud issue.
  21. Well, it's highly doubtful that anyone will be given the guitar, and it's also highly doubtful that it will be raffled off; the "legalities" of such an approach are way too complicated.
  22. +1, where? I believe it remains in Ted's possession.
  23. Judging by this photo in which Jeffro appears to be one step away from stripping off his pants and mounting the damn thing, I'd say your boy Reeshard would want it:
  24. The only change is that should anyone sue, Kizanski's cache of vintage guitars cannot be awarded as damages.
  25. A New Day Yesterday, comes with the So It's Like That CD.
