  1. That's what I love about the Tonemasters. The most portable high-quality 4x12s I know of. One person can lift 'em, and they fit in a deep trunk like the one in my Taurus. They can be had cheaply too; both of mine came in well under the HFC-approved price.
  2. I own two Fender Tonemaster 4x12s. I'll bring one if we ever play outdoors.
  3. Flynn doesn't joke about '70s Sunbursts.
  4. Look at the guys I cited. Adler and Starr weren't the iconic members of either band they were in, but GnR lost that loose swagger when Matt "The Human Excessively Starched Shirt" Sorum took over on drums, and nothing AIC released after the first two albums rocked nearly as hard. The missing ingredient? Mike Starr.
  5. LOL! And down this road we go. Freddie Mercury, Bit Player. Now I've heard everything.
  6. Established frontmen are not what I would call "bit" players.
  7. In the Def Leppard thread, LOTT commented that the band "ceased to exist after Pete Willis was terminated." Maybe an overstatement, but there's some truth to it for sure. Who are some other guys like this? A few who come to mind for me: Steven Adler, Guns 'n Roses Mike Starr, Alice In Chains John Rutsey, Rush (just kidding with that one, or am I? LOL) More? I'm forgetting a few; this is a topic I've contemplated often.
  8. In my case, those are cock cuts. Right back atcha, LOTT! There you go again, taking the approach my wife takes and accusing me of saying something I never said. Besides, I could have two full racks like this and still be a minimalist compared to you.
  9. Oh yeah, twice, including last Sunday. It's killer!
  10. Because I can't take credit for that LOL! And the pattern is on the paneling/drywall itself, not wallpaper.
  11. LOL you love it, don't you? Is it the couch or the lamps?
  12. Well I've arrived where I am now after much experimentation, and have ruled out all of the above. Although I only have real world experience with P90s; the rest I know for a fact won't work for me. The natural Strat has Rio Dirty Harrys in it, which get me close to the P90 vibe. You also don't see an acoustic in my collection. I have no need for one of those either. Can't make enough noise with 'em. Haven't owned one since I got my first electric in 1980.
  13. I fully realize that what I'm about to say is bullshit, but guitar-wise I am not wanting for anything. All of these get played, and they've all been tweaked to my satisfaction:
  14. Dear Christ what a nightmare. I won't say what I usually say in situations like these. I will, however, wish you luck with the restoration. If you can turn this turd into a treasure, that'll be very satisfying.
  15. The rest of the Crypt Kicker 5, though, still has to play the Holiday Inn circuit to make ends meet.
  16. I would, simply because I've been living it for my entire adult life and I've grown comfortable with that status.
  17. Me and Badger are going, but only if you are.
  18. I've used a variety of different brands over the years (Ernie Ball, GHS, DR, currently Elixir) and have gotten lots of mileage out of all of them in terms of both tone and non-breakage. I haven't broken a string during play in about 10 years or so.
  19. YES! I was gonna post that. A classic!
