  1. You thinking of Gary Barden? That's the answer if you're referencing the album with "Are You Ready To Rock," "Mad Axeman," etc. Great drum sound on that one for sure. Cozy Powell was the shit.
  2. Nothing a cornholer hates more than having to bend over to pick up their beer, which could perhaps lead to a different kind of cornholing if said cornholer were not careful.
  3. We're having a jam session on Sunday night and there's a SwirlyGig on each stand for the recording mics. I'll be sure to get some pics with them (full, hopefully) in the foreground. We also use the Swirly drumstick holder so I'll get a few shots of that too. I'm tellin' ya Sid, you really need to market a SwirlyGig/stand combo for all these cornhole/beanbag players. That damn game is omnipresent in my area.
  4. Props on the signage!
  5. AC/DC probably have one arena tour left in 'em. I'll shell out for that one. Maybe an occasional outdoor shed show for the summer atmosphere, although the one we have in the Chicago area is perhaps the worst music venue on Earth. Other than that, club shows only for me anymore.
  6. Someone should initiate a skiffle revival. I would but I have no idea what the fuck it is.
  7. Let's keep them music related on the main board. If someone wants to start a similar thread for general videos on the OC, go for it.
  8. This is old-school HFC. I, for one, fuckin' love it! Anyone who says they don't is a goddamn liar.
  9. LOL...that 'dipshit' was me. IIRC the BIN was something like $850 and it wound up going for something like $2200...it was three or four years ago, and not a particularly spectacular or clean example. I bet the seller was happy to get what it was worth. Wouldn't you, as the seller, have been? But your actions killed anyone here's chance of getting it for $850. It made the guitar MUCH more expensive, probably causing the buyer to have to dig much deeper. Wouldn't that piss you off, as a prospective buyer? I applaud any insertion of a monkey wrench into the already chaotic, ridiculous and utterly asinine culture of eBay. Well done, dipshit!
  10. Factory relic job .... how lame.
  11. As well you should. There is no greater compliment in the world. When my dad died after a long illness, I felt relief that his suffering was over and he was at peace in a better place. Hopefully on some level you can feel this way as well.
  12. For me, something all five of these had in common was great drumming. I gained new respect for Kenny Jones that had gone away during his stint with the Who. When you add a dangling cymbal stand array to your kit that resembles something you might see over an infant's crib, it's time to rethink your approach.
  13. Watching the Skynyrd one now. Where was Steve Gaines? Not in the band yet? Not able to travel overseas? Great raw tones on all of these. Killer rock soloing from Gary Rossington and also Mike Campbell on the Petty one.
  14. Chris & Jack's Belgian Bar. How perfect is that?
  15. Seems like the only way to put it!
  16. GREAT photos!
  17. AND he brought beer. And not just any beer. The corked stuff that Poe fancies. "Kicks ass" is an understatement.
  18. Thanks man! It always sounds better with a good player running through it as opposed to myself! That was my Valvetech 50-watt head (purchased from Brewmaster) into my Dr. Z Best 2x12 cab with a Vintage 30/G12H30 mix (purchased from Teleman). The cab is what really gives it that cutting, in-your-face quality. That same head through my cavernous Jackson 4x12 sounds huge and woody.
  19. Abuse? Those are compliments! Great shots Gene. Let's see some more! Bruce, I know you gotta have some!
  20. The "loaded" part certainly explains the "blown away" part LOL! Forcing the riff of one song into another is a stunt deserving of scorn, not admiration.
  21. Yeah, as is typical of threads such as this, you get some real head-scratchers. Slash? He's only the biggest rock guitar icon of the past 20 years.
  22. Just got home off the road. What a great, great time! It was great seeing everyone again and meeting a few of you for the first time. Now if you'll excuse me, I need to go fall down somewhere.
  23. I'm a natural lefty who plays righty because that's how I first played air/toy guitar. It wasn't a conscious decision; it just felt right for me to have my dominant hand on the neck. For some reason it's the ONLY thing I do right-handed (actually, I crank off right-handed, but I digress ...). Kudos to you for letting her do whatever comes naturally to her. And if worse comes to worse, buy her a righty strat and flip it over. One of the coolest looks in the history of rock'n'roll.
  24. Happy birthday! You don't look a day over 350!
  25. Sincere condolences to you, Marty.
