  1. WOW!!! This thread is BAD!!!!!!! H/S2 I sold the Studio to get the Artist Korina HB. Not a great move but a good one. As I said in my post, I wouldn't mind getting Chucky back someday. Here is a closer shot of the top. iownit4 has it now up your way not far from L.I. BTW, that Standard is the SHIZZZZZZ and that Black Daytona I got from you lil over 3 years ago is still whipping it up here!!!
  2. MMMMM it was a good year for Hamer hunting. In February I picked up this Import Hamer Standard, Ralphie pictured here with his fellow Import Dean '79 Series Z Louie I got in March trying to be ambidextrious or sum-ting, they have both departed. In May I scored this MOST EXCELLANT '97 Mahogany Standard by way of Sonicblue1960, Brewmaster, and Bruce919, . Ole '97 could be the best guitar I own. I wasn't in Minneapolis 30 minutes last July when I knew this one was coming home with me. Chucky was/is a GREAT guitar, imnsho, but I got Korina Fever for this one fellow HFC'er Tomjoyce was selling on Evilbay for a real decent BIN. While my AK10-46 is a great guitar I do regret selling Chucky and might have to try to get that one back someday. Edited to add: I forgot about Vug the Lil Ol' Vector from Tejas!!! He came to Florida in November or so.
  3. Oh man, the hours I should spend!!!!
  4. Bass Porn Please!
  5. Very nice.
  6. WOW!!!! Is right!!!!
  7. OK, a traditional headstock but everything else stays! Agreeing to the same specs makes it more doable for Hamer I would think. I'll start another thread rather than hijack this one anymore. I want to try my best to see this happen. I think it would be cool. Gold Hardware tricks it out.
  8. Elduave-"Gene, I can visualize that thing..." You got to Visualize To Realize Suckers! Who wants a Bad Ass Standard that would be VERY affordable IF we can convince Hamer to experiment in the Import line. The are doing "dealer exclusives" in the USA line, why not an import run? Trans Red Quilt Top over Mahogany Standard Dark Brown back and neck Cream binding Double cream US Dimarzios Super Distortion/PAF Cream toggle switch Amber tophat knobs Gold hardware Boomer inlays Reverse headstock Cream Bound neck and headstock All on a limited run of 12 or 24 Imports.

  10. Way to many things over the years including straplocks, hot sauce, cds, instant friendships, a place to crash in Dallas, cool shirts, and one of you even played music at my mom's memorial service last year. I could NEVER repay all of it but I keep trying. THANKS!!!!!!!
  11. Party ON fellas!!!
  12. Michael At Dean Open House Jam I shot these in 2004. Great person to meet and talk to. Loves Skid Row and is real humble with his talents.
  13. Wow! I got a mention. Not me. Although I did try to figure out how I could get into Cheap Chick's Atlantic City gig but aborted that mission due to unforseen G.A.S. attack.
  14. Sounds like a "if you build it.." kinda thing. Faith. Beliving it will happen and it does. Old cliche I've heard Visualization equals Actualization. Cant pinpoint anything guitar related but last year on 01/07/04, I visualized first thing in the morning, when I noticed the date, that the Cash 3 number that day would be 714, coulda been my The Godz influence, so I played a $1 straight/combo of the number. Musta been looking in the mirror, it came in 417! I still won $80 but still. I kept the lil slip for winning it was so cool. For me at least. I will apply your technique to something I'm working on learning and I'll let you know if it helps.
  15. All I can say is WOW!!!
  16. Man, that is a SICK guitar! WOW!!
  17. Yeah but watch out I've gotten a new label lately, I'm "efffin' Laaaaame." BTW, that guitar is YUMMY too!!! Tell the wife that I had no influence!
  18. You gotta watch out for the Dean Lovin' now Hamer Lovin' guys I seem to be influencing. Chuck that is a BAD lil guitar! Nice score!
  19. Along with the things mentioned may I input some too? I've been known to back the treble down a hair when I play/hack on Korina guitars due to the brightness of the wood of the guitar. Couple that with a more treble toned JB pickup and that might be some of it. My Dean Korina Z has a JB in the neck and a JB in the bridge. Stock. Talk about a bright but great sounding guitar. Check the pickup hiegth too. I like Bill Lawrence's advice on pickup hiegth adjustment on the pickupology page at his site. http://www.billlawrence.com Guitar Porn IS obligatory!
  20. Went through that last December bro. My condolences and a big hug your way! Be strong today and then take a moment for yourself.
  21. Ah, you make wise choice my son.
  22. Welcome to this Place of Madness Thomas. Ahh where to begin? 3 of my favorite subjects, Hamer, Korina, and Vectors. Wish I had one but been lucky enough to play a few. Great stuff. OMHO, but Korina and Vectors are such a great combo. I am lucky enough to own the 2 Korina Flying Vs at the bottom of this post. Korina/Limba/ African Mahogany is a wonder guitar wood but until you play and hear and feel it we could babble on forever. If you got the bucks buy one. Someday I will too. BTW, anyone own #28 of the Standard and/or Vector run from '97? I would drop over if I ever ran across those. The one Flying V is the Prototype of a run of 10 total from a Pennsylvania guitar maker named Ron Kayfield. The brand is Arpeggio. Interesting(unproven) story behind the wood. Said to be from the late '40's - early '50s and was a Softball bleecher seat when first used. :P I rewired the Seymour Duncan 59's up using a Hamer Sunburst Archtop schematic found elsewhere on this site. The other is a late '90's Czech made Dean. A feather of a guitar with great LP tones and yet it's own even with Euro pickups. Schaller hardware too. Hamer Vectors are wonderfully balanced and "sustain for days".
  23. MMMM Yummy NICE!!!
