  1. Everyone of those was excellant. It was cool to be given info like that the Skynard one was from 11/11/75 so that was why no Steve Gaines. Ronnie was interesting to watch but the thing that struck me about he and Bon was they were not so much singers as they were frontman and a unique key part to the mix of the band. AC/DC was on fire a couple times in that show but the subdued crowd thing was kinda wierd in all the shows except The Police. AC/DC crowds here in the states in '78/'79 were in a frenzy at their shows. I remember seeing them at St. Johns in Columbus in October '79 and I just couldn't sit still. I musta been told to sit down by the usher twenty times. I was on the aisle. Tom Petty's episode was superb. Mike Campbell was tasty. I was blown away but TP and THBs as much as I was by The Faces. I had never seen a full performance from The Faces. They were really cool and I really liked it when they went Bluesy. The Police were a really tight cool band. The cohesion between them was nice to the ears even with the few above mentioned blurps in the machine or would that be ghosts?
  2. I never took the chance to truely say hello Conrad. Thanks for the laughs as we prepared brats and I got smoked. Your photos are great thanks for posting. By chance did you take one of my friend with the Black Dean V?
  3. VH1 Classics Saturday 1pm-6pm catch all the shows in a row. Thursday night at 10 is Lynard Skynard. The AC/DC show is an excellant snapshot of '70's AC/DC. Man, I miss Bon. Saw them twice back then. Faces was great too. Ronnie is a cool player in that. His tone was nice too. It was on at 6pm today too.
  4. Minneapolis in March is still a FRIDGEDaire freezer zone! Now June, WOW!!!!
  5. I cant say thanks enough for everyone that came up and supported this livingroom noodler. Allowing me to bring two friends along no one had ever met was outstanding. You Minneapolis guys will see more of Mark the tall guy in several of BruceM's Friday night pics unidentified. Great guy and VERY cool artist who likes to use a guitar as a paintbrush in a song. Lil here a chord, there a jangle or two behind the lead, you get the idea. Now that he is a Hamer owner he wants to know when the next one is? Thanks Eric for sharing a feeling that was alive in that room.
  6. OOh Yeah Nice!!!!
  7. One last note. My mini Standard got it's first ding Saturday night. ouch. Sorry for the abuse there MCChris....
  8. Mark BruceM, Sid the drummer(I think), and myself. Mark and Bruce. Mark and Scotty discussing Tie Your Mother Down with SirDaniel before we started. Me watching Mark and Sir Daniel getting down. ."...Your Momma and your Daddy gonna plauge me til I die..." BruceM and his Vegas Copper Gadow!! Happy Birthday eh? SirDaniel with Black Bart. Shredmiester with his Charvel he snuck in. Elduave thumping some bass lines. MCChris lighting it up one time. BruceM with a lil attitude. GFC55 and Brother Scotty in the background getting it on.
  9. Guitars I brought along. As I said in the other thread, I gave the Echo to my friend Mark for helping to ignite the life long love I have for guitars. I gave the Dean to my friend Tim for much the same reason. Sometimes ya gotta pay the good stuff back. MCChris looked good playing GCF55's Monaco. What a sweet looking and sounding bass. Robbie during The Fabulous Volcanos set. Cool T51 player. I have also once again spaced on his name but a great player and nice guy. "Was that a D or an A next." "C!" Toni laying down a beat
  10. OK I'll go first.... Syd of Swirlygig fame with Shorty, my Mini Standard at BruceM's Friday night prejam jam. Pam getting down on BruceM's Cruisebass. That's Toni on drums of Fabulous Volcanos fame. BruceM with his ever popular T51. Good old friend and new Hamer owner Mark playing his Tyler Strat. Pam modeling as a photographer with a big smile on and cute stockings too.
  11. "....I got video coming..."-Hikarateboy Oh man.
  12. To many things to mention in one post. Being back in Minnesota with old and new friends. Many HUGE thanks for welcoming myself and my friends I brought along to invade the jam with their guitars, an old ES335, Tyler Strat, and Dean V. Elduave even snagged the ES for the first of two renditions of Stranglehold of the night. I gave my friend Mark the Hamer Echotone that I had brought along to play on a tune I penned up for the jam called DADGAD Rawks after the tuning I played in. I thought it would be cool for Mark to play the ES and I the Echotone because Mark had let me play that same 335 in 1976 when I was a total beginner to guitar. Some might say I haven't gone far since. I gave him the Echotone in thanks for helping me to find a lifelong passion. As soon as I bought it in July I knew where and why it was going where it went. Bruce granted me the honor to join me on DADGAD Rawks and at special reguest even tuned his 8 String Blue Hamer cutie to do it with. WOW!!! Recruiting a drummer at the last minute was great too. I think his name was Sid but I'm not 100%. He played Tie Your Mother Down with us too., Scotty, BruceM's brother joined us at the last minute on that song too. I killed Tie Your Mother down. No really I did. People left the room. Told ya'll I wasn't Freddie. Sir Dan and Mark however ripped it up. I looked over to my right and just watched as they went at it. I wasn't even sure where to come in for the last verse cause they played so well. Sir Dan got so fired up he leaped of the stage at the end of it. I remember holding on to Shorty, my mini Standard, during that one and thinking, yeah I'm not playing on this one. Up next was an interesting version of Judas Priest's Living After Midnight only I changed all the lyrics to represent aspects of turning 50 or older and called It Living After 50. Couple folks had a good laugh. MCChris joined me on Bass and Eric Weston rounded that out with some smoking riffs. Coolest of all was Elduave on Drums. Is there nothing this wildman cant do? Later in the night near the end of the night, a good old friend got up and played To Hot To Handle with Eric Weston, Elduave on bass, Shredmiester, and Drummer Sid from above and myself on vocals. We had a good time with that. My friend Tim had been through some sad stuff this past week and getting a new guitar made him feel so good that the next thing I know we changed drummers, THANKS Mike, and Tim started cranking out Ted's Stranglehold and we had a REALLY good time with that one. Elduave stayed up on bass and myself on vox. Strangest of all was to look to my left during the solo and somewhere along the line Shredmiester has stepped off and up there was MCChris and he and Tim were getting down. I never even knew he was there until halfway through the song. I only had one drink. It was a great thing to meet the new folks. So many. To call names would be unfair for me, cause there were so many, Bruce's family, the folks Friday at Bruce's, and was there any count on how many folks were at the Eagle's. BTW, downtown in Minneapolis is a place called Minneapolis Eagle, NOT the Minneapolis Eagles Club. Finally got to the jam about 8 instead of 7, AYE!!!! What a fantasic event and all because of a silly messageboard huh? Life IS Good!!!

  17. Shoo, dont follow me to close, I'm lost.
  18. What is allowed on the main board? 1. Most of all being a nice guy. 2. Complimenting other's guitars even if you might not like that style of guitar but can appreciate a good build. 3. Saying Hoppy Birdy when it isn't someone you know at all. 4. Extending an invite to someone coming to your area. 5. Posting great guitar photos to induce G.A.S. in your fellow guitar addicts. That's a good Top 5 I try to go by.
  19. It's got The Look though.....
  20. I got a question for you. Flat top? Binding? P90 Sunburst? Not Special.
