  1. As a true "Livingroom noodler", meaning without trained pristine ears, I can tell you there is some sound differance. Being it is a little brighter most of the time. I find it has great resonace too. MCC is right it can be loud. Unplugged the Korina is very loud for a solid body guitar and my Artist is sweet sounding unplugged. As a natural finish lover, I also like the look of Korina with clear on it a TON. Hamer picks great looking wood no matter the flavor. Anyone you know have a Korina guitar? If you were in Tampa Bay area you would be more than welcome to try mine. Dont have a Hamer Standard but I have a couple Korina guitars including a, '01 Artist Korina HB. Nice mellow sounding guitar with 2 SD '59s in it. It will crank up nice with some high gain on it and I find I set my Brian May Vox a lil midrangey high setting on the tone knob with that guitar. AW hell, what am I yackin' on for, Get some KORINA BABY!!!! Edited cause I didn't say what I wanted.
  2. Say what ya'll want. I like the 3 on a side Blitz. Just wish they weren't so damn heavy! I would love a Zebra one but not ($$$$) that much.
  3. KORINA TOOO!!!!!!!! That is over the top. Funny, Jol said the same about Black Korina that he did about Spalted wood IIRC. Life IS Good!
  4. So the Barncaster has a veneer top then? I thought it was solid too but I have never seen it up closer than 4th row. I have a couple shots from the late 2002 dates Brad had that one out on somewhere. Yeah DavidE . I am a lil predictable eh?
  5. You say it like that is a bad thing. Trust me I have lost no love for Hamer, I just got a sweet mistress. Edited to note: I shared this thread with the Dean board cause those guys dig pointy spalted guitars too.
  6. El and Pee, Great looking guitar. It reminds me of a Desert landscape in the full shot. Neat flaming to the top also. I haven't seen that in a Spalted guitar. I too remember those comments Poe and am suprised that they built it after hearing those words. Good for you Peedenmark it looks great! Ctrixie will have to chime in about the quality of her Dean USA Spalted V she has had for a couple years. The Dean USAs are top notch made for the most part as with any maker. The past 5-8 years they have put out a lot of well made stuff. Hamer quality? Maybe on a good day one or more reach it but not every guitar. I wouldn't expect it from them due to the volume built. Time Capsules, which the Spalted ones are, are all Hamer level but OIMNSHO.
  7. As always, looks like a GREAT time. This event is on my list of things to do. Almost happened this year.
  8. Bumpo for a great guitar. If I must say so myself. Put mine in a friend's hands yesterday and he liked it the best out of all the ones he played. It was the C shape of the neck that got that review.
  9. Here was the inspiration..... Brother Duane and BCRGreg's creation. My Prototype....
  10. Reserve is lower than BIN. They were VERY nice priced new but not at that BIN price. Seller needs to part with it due to financial issues. Bid you might get REAL lucky. Jaxx up above put Chrome mini humbuckers in his ala Eclipse style. These P90 guitars were inspired by this here forum right here!
