  1. Years ago, I had to sell one of my vintage Les Paul Sunbursts to get through a tough time. My then girlfriend(now wife) Kristin told me "We'll get you another one, don't worry". She helped my aquisition of my guitar store, she being the CPA, I being the tool user. All thing being said, she has me on the "One in, one out" rule. There have been times when a recent Hamer left the vault and another vintage Gibson entered. One in, one out! As to the phrase "'Tis easier to get forgiveness than permission", my grandfather (who had just bought a new car) said that to me when I was young. He was the smartest man to ever walk the earth.
  2. Happy Birthday, Treefitty!
  3. Trans Black looks good on Robins.....
  4. There are 6 BCR Burst Elites out there, the first ever chambered Elites.
  5. I know how you feel, Marty. It passes, but only partially. 6 years ago, my father died in his sleep after 12 remissions in 20 years. We prepared ourselves for his death 12 times, and he made it. When he actually did pass, all that preparation was in vain. The loss is so damn FINAL. It took a year or so before I could smile when thinking of him. Now, years later, I am not ashamed to cry when I miss him. He was THE MAN. I aspire to be half what he was. Love your dad, those that have them. Even if it isn't "manly" to hug the guy, DO IT. Once he's gone, you'll understand. If you need to talk, Marty. call me.

  14. I was told officially that there is none. Of course, that can change in an instant.
  15. This guitar we did for Ricky2, heretofore referred to as "Deuce"...... Push/pull coil taps for each bucker, tons of tones. BUT.... I HATED the natural headstock. So we redid it.... NOW it's perfect. And another Mad Man Mike sig pic.... Cordroad, you peeing on the floor yet?
  16. I have no problem swapping pickups, most of mine have non stock pups in them. Rios, Voodoos, some that I woulnd myself.... My Huber has Haussels in it like stock, except Haussel wound them to my specs for me.(Not that I'm a big shot or anything, I just had particular specs!!) Rarely does a company use versatile enough pickups to satisfy every ear, like restaurants rarely get all the spices right. That's why you see ketchup, steak sauce and other condiments readily at hand. Removing typical pickups from typical guitars does not hurt the value, but down the road, having the stock pickups can make a huge difference in the value of a guitar, whether they are in the case or hooked up. Do what works for YOU, you are the ultimate judge. Oh, and buy your pickups from ME, so I can feed my kids. LOL
  17. That's the Mad Man Mike Signature model.
