  1. Oh boy. Now that I'm the overly-proud owner of a checkerboard guitar strap. I need a checkerboard guitar. And checkerboard shoes, socks, trousers, shirt, tie, sport coat and short-billed cap. And then we get into the checkerboarded greasepaint on hands and neck and face. It's the madness of devout consistency.
  2. Thank you, @topekatj! It was good of you to donate the strap for the HFC cause. I hear my guitars arguing over which one gets to try it on first. They can be such nasty mofos.
  3. @bruce919, what was the speaker set in your amp? I ask because I've read how particular Paul and Doug were in choosing the transformers and capacitors and valves in for these amps, and expect that obsession extended to speakers.
  4. If you run across one of these for sale, please let me know. Thanks. https://www.chicagomusicexchange.com/products/prs-experience-prs-2010-recording-amp-50-watt-guitar-2499812
  5. Thanks for all you do to keep us entangled, Ted. Don't be shy about soliciting resources. And for God's sake don't even contemplate a move to Facebook.
  6. The feet (and hand) appear to be a child's. Dad says: We can't afford a new gaming console right now. Jr thinks: I can fix that.
  7. I picture the signal delay from the guitar-end jack of the cable (GEJ) to the amp-end jack (AEJ). AEJ: Who is it? GEJ: It's me, GEJ. Open up! I've got the signal! AEJ: GEJ? GEJ: Yeah, GEJ. C'mon, open up. I think the impedence saw me. AEJ: GEJ's not here! GEJ: No, man. I'm GEJ, man!
  8. I vividly remember being in my girlfriend's bedroom, introducing her to this album, and noting how much the body of the blonde succubus on the right side of the front cover resembled her own lovely figure. She feigned surprise and offense, and then laughed.
  9. Um, for those DiMarriagio rings. What does it mean if they're wired for split coils?
  10. My list adds Yngwie and Don Henley, the first because of his obnoxious insecure ego and the second because of his "mine! mine! mine!" attacks on fair-use of Eagles songs on edumacator accounts across social media. No matter how talented they are, someone out there is sick of dealing with their shit.
  11. That was delightfully happy and tight. Thanks!
  12. https://reverb.com/marketplace?query=Gorgomyte For many years I've used FastFret to clean strings and frets after each playing - it's just a dense batt of cotton impregnated with mineral oil. For serous grime I use cotton swabs soaked with naptha (which doesn't eat varnish), and then wipe the ebony and rosewood boards with a wisp of mineral or cedar oil. Note that most fretboard oils have a mineral oil base. As does baby oil.
  13. 4 Watts and one knob is all you need.
  14. Who is the guitarist/bassist? Philip IV The Fair, judging by the golden locks and king-sized pedalboard?
  15. Apparently sold. One of us should have bought it. I should have bought it, despite having blown my Blue Guitar Budget. The shame. The shame.
  16. Answered my own question: Not compatible. The Intertubes haven't revealed the size of the metric bolt used to adjust the saddle locations (not the bolts used to affix saddle locations,) but I'm guessing it's an M3. Off to the hardware store. Did Hamer include this adjustment bolt with guitars sporting the VSVG? Update: Yep, it's an M3. Best I could find was an M3 cap bolt - need an Allen wrench for adjustment torque, but it works.
  17. Has anyone tried Wilkinson VS-100 saddles in the VSVG trem standard on Daytonas and Mirage 1s?
  18. Scholz offers both the R-1 8/16 (ribbed cone) and the P-1 8/16 (plain cone.) The P-1 "enhances fidelity, increases note definition, and delivers a more transparent, uncolored tone for a more high-fidelity response," while the R-1 "is the ultimate evolution of the classic British guitar speaker, designed to deliver rich harmonic content, powerful projection, and unmistakable character." In short the P-1 is designed for pure aural intent, while the R-1 is ribbed for your pleasure. Choose wisely. Also note that Scholz changed the basket terminals to be adjacent, in line with other speaker makes.
  19. That's just silly. And demo'd by feet wearing Inspector Gadget socks. So appropriate.
  20. Thanks Saul. I installed treble bleed circuits in my '93 Studio. They work well, but are less elegant than this simple rewiring.
  21. Says the.man who told me "Do it. Do it. Do it..." regarding the blue Daytona. You need another Daytona. You need another Daytona. You need another Daytona. You need another Daytona. You need another Daytona. You need another Daytona. You need another Daytona. You need another Daytona.
  22. Buh. Missed that. Pay no attention to that comment behind the curtain! Update: My '93 shows a small gap. Perhaps Blue's larger gap is due to a manufacturing variance in its bridge plate, or in the plate mounting screw holes.
