  1. What the hell is this? How come I'm always the last to know?
  2. and you didn't pull out a credit card on the spot?
  3. Next are you gonna tell us that you'd need a coffee can?
  4. How huge are your fingers, that you can use a mustard jar as a slide?
  5. So good to hear from you Pete! You and Mike are the ones who made me aware of the best Guitars in the world-Thanks, and Oh, How I miss Fllynn Guitars! Ditto this. Trips to Evanston aren't as much fun since you guys left. Still wish I hadn't sold Mike my '79 Standard, #0166, even despite the nasty twist in the neck!
  6. Grrrrrrrrr! That is a company that makes motorcycles that are dressed up to look somewhat like classic Triumphs. It's not better, it's different If a Triumph doesn't mark its' territory, it AIN"T a real Triumph!
  7. Caretakers of the marque? When they start making Charvels with Gibson type specs? This was their redhedded step child that they never wanted and have finally kicked out of the house. Not happy to say this either as things were lining up for me to put in a call to a Hamer dealer given their recent change of heart on CO. Fuck, indeed. ^^^This. Why would FMIC decide to go with the Charvel brand to sell Gibson-y guitars, when they had a brand name in-house that was already in that direction, AND had a much higher quality reputation?
  8. I'm assuming that's because your mother-in-law never felt or sounded as good as a Hamer? (sorry - no disrespect - just funnin')
  9. +1, The all-time champ! If you hold me to 15 minutes it's; Jeff Beck - 'Cause we've ended as lovers - 5:52 Stevie Ray Vaughan - Riviera Paradise - 9:00 with 8 seconds to spare. And if I can stretch it to 21 minutes, I'd add Carlos Santana - Europa - 6:07 And don't nobody tell me that Riviera Paradise and Europa ain't Fusion, 'cause I know they Jazz in there somewheres.
  10. Just for that, I'm pulling the picture of your new Roccaforte!
  11. There is no way that guy is serious. My money is on a spoof. He's got pages on Linkedin, Myspace and Facebook, I think he's serious (or at least he THINKS he is)
  12. It gets better! Watch Parts 2, 3 and his "Exercise" videos
  13. And yet, not bad enough to make me long to hear any more of either Henry Kaiser or Derek Bailey from last weeks post.
  14. Don't rule out insurance covering a Naturopath. Mine was covered, when I asked my general practitioner to refer me.
  15. Well, if you don't get a better result, I'd try a naturopath. One of my neighbors asked me about mine, when it came up in conversation once, went to see her to get tests done, and he found that he was lactose intollerant, and since since going on a gluten and dairy free diet, has gotten rid of whatever it was he originally was looking for an answer to, and in the process has gone from weighing around 270, to around 230 (he's about 6'3").He has recently told me that friends and family have been asking him why he looks so good suddenly. .
  16. Well the trip to the dermatologist seems like a good idea. I know as men we tend to go to doctors as a last resort, (I went six weeks with a sore neck, before running into a chiropractor by chance, and accepting his offer of a free exam and x-ray, found out that the really minor car accident I was in, had caused a good case of whiplash), but toadrollers' disertation on gluten allergies really hit home, because I've heard people say that when they began a gluten free diet, their skin never looked better. Good luck wit' it, I'll bet the Doc will find an easy answer. edited to add - depending on whta the dermatologist finds, you may want to also find a good naturopath, as there are many remedies available that address the cause, and not just treat the symptom, other than those from "big pharma'.
  17. Who among us isn't a Beaver fan?
  18. Really channeling his inner Carlos Santana on that first tune with Sheila E. isn't he? Edited to add; You'll have to decide for yourself if that's a good thing
  19. Standard number 0281 is up on Ebay as we speak. Since I was told that my old 0223 was a '79, and I know my old 0166 was, I'm guessing that would be a late '79 or very early '80 production, no? edited to correct a serial number
  20. What a great idea! Hey I was born in '58, so has anybody got a 1958 Strat, Tele, Jazzmaster, oh and how about a Les Paul, ES-335 and a Les Paul Jr. they'll give up? Emphasis on the "give" part
  21. Labor Day is gonna be Motown Day for a while. (Hope NBC's Andrea Mitchell or Chris Matthews don't read that as a secret "dog whistle" joke) Great groups from a long time ago, here's a taste; www.youtube.com/watch?v=zsLWKBNaX7k&featue=related edited to fix link
  22. blah, blah, blah.....
  23. Loved Joe Jackson! And as mentioned earlier, the change in directions isn't something too many artists could, or would try to, (or have the soul to), pull off. The "Night and Day" album was fantastic, though I've wondered every time I've heard "Breakin' us in Two", if Joe hadn't been listening to Badfingers' "Day After Day" a few times before sitting down to compose. It's got some familiarity to me.
  24. D-tuna on a harp? I think I prefer this. www.youtube.com/watch?v=XkINiWyyfyI
