I love Ebony but I never seem to snag a guitar with Ebony. So since I have like 10 guitars with Rosewood i'll say Rosewood.

Feasible? Sure. Except that I doubt you'd get 10 people here who would pony up that kind of $$ for a modified Special. Agreed on the Gibson copy thing, except it costs more and has 1/2 the resale value. The Standard Junior, even if it cost a little more, is more unique/interesting. ...or a takeoff of the Prototype... This still floats to the original idea. I'm game for a Special/Jr Shape with the PhantoGlide Pickup Setup. Its a Simple guitar with a wide tonal range. The Sustainblock just screams HFC.

Sounds like a Real Man's gutiar to me. I would pitch the extra couple hundred in for a custom color even if its not sparkle.

Rio Grande Baby!!! Loose the chrome rings (all three) and that chrome switch and knob. Class it up with some creme rings and a black knob. Play it, get board with it and sell it to me. I'm still a hardcore Sustainblock Freak. But the Wraparound is pretty good too. You can just feel the difference in the string tension on a SD/WB compared to a TOM. They feel good, real good.

I have to say that that i'm sold on the Wraptail Studios. I haven't even got to plug mine in but its load as hell an fells great.

I have recieved my Koa Studio and I'm sure that i'll move to a different style bridge asap. I use my bridge as my anchor and I am killing my sustain since the strings are just sitting on top of the bridge. Look absolutly amazing with just a few tiny dings on the back side. I'll get pics tomorrow for ya all. G and B are sitting on an adjustable slider and they have a completely different tone than the other 4 strings. Yes, before anyone comments I know that thats because they are the G and B strings....LOL

I thought the first one was the one from OZ. Thats the one I love, its has a great burst. Damn good looking Studio.

Man its gets hard to not just put a 4 digit up FS and just watch it print money. Mine was the best investment I ever made, and not to mention a fantastic guitar to boot! Never heard that one, and I've owned several '79 Standards myself that were perfect. Could you be thinking about the earlier neck twisting on some of the pre-3pc neck Sunbursts or issues with the early 8 and 12 string (single truss rod) basses? True it's more of a sunburst thing, but I have seen a couple really small neck standards in this # range, one I played a couple years ago had a slight twist, but played fine with no tuning issues. It was the string gauge comment that scared me, I can't play hamers with springy necks. Could just be a setup/trussrod thing, but I sure would want to test drive this one first... Hope this one turns out ok for the new owner. I would have to say mine has a pretty slim neck on it. But its nowhere near the 81 Sunburst that I had.
