I'm still a hardcore Sustainblock Freak. But the Wraparound is pretty good too. You can just feel the difference in the string tension on a SD/WB compared to a TOM. They feel good, real good.

I have to say that that i'm sold on the Wraptail Studios. I haven't even got to plug mine in but its load as hell an fells great.

I have recieved my Koa Studio and I'm sure that i'll move to a different style bridge asap. I use my bridge as my anchor and I am killing my sustain since the strings are just sitting on top of the bridge. Look absolutly amazing with just a few tiny dings on the back side. I'll get pics tomorrow for ya all. G and B are sitting on an adjustable slider and they have a completely different tone than the other 4 strings. Yes, before anyone comments I know that thats because they are the G and B strings....LOL

I thought the first one was the one from OZ. Thats the one I love, its has a great burst. Damn good looking Studio.

Man its gets hard to not just put a 4 digit up FS and just watch it print money. Mine was the best investment I ever made, and not to mention a fantastic guitar to boot! Never heard that one, and I've owned several '79 Standards myself that were perfect. Could you be thinking about the earlier neck twisting on some of the pre-3pc neck Sunbursts or issues with the early 8 and 12 string (single truss rod) basses? True it's more of a sunburst thing, but I have seen a couple really small neck standards in this # range, one I played a couple years ago had a slight twist, but played fine with no tuning issues. It was the string gauge comment that scared me, I can't play hamers with springy necks. Could just be a setup/trussrod thing, but I sure would want to test drive this one first... Hope this one turns out ok for the new owner. I would have to say mine has a pretty slim neck on it. But its nowhere near the 81 Sunburst that I had.

That would be the LP that I've seen him play every concert I been. That would be loaded with a 500T and a 496R I believe. Probey why he picked the Burst 3 and a 57.

Here is the the thing. I don't know because I haven't played one but Sammy's has played a LP Classic since the 90s in Trans Red. Probly just a copy of that guitar, but it would have been cooler if it just had the Alien Sticker behind the bridge like Sammys than that logo.

I agree he only retired that gutiar when they came out with the explorer X. I definetly relate to him and the explorer myself.

I never have bought a Jackson, just Charvels. I've owned a Sunburst 750XL, White Model 5FX , Blue Model 5FX, White Model 1, White Model 3, A modified model 2 with a Hand Painted Dragon on the front. I want to say there was one or two more but can't remember. The Neck through model 5's and 6's along with the 650's and 750's were from the Japan Custom Shop. Great guitar and I used to get them on ebay for less than $175 bucks.
