What is a good price on a redwood?

Value of the most expensive guitar you own?
Thundersteel replied to zorrow's topic in Hamer Fan Club Messageboard
I can't believe how much instrument prices have risen. I paid a whopping $1,200 for my '89 Les Paul Custom in 1990; now, to get the same guitar, will cost you close to $4,000! Gibbys are way overpriced, IMHO. -
OK--got it!

Their website shows they have thirteen of them; you mean the website isn't up to date? LOL

How is Willcutt's pricing? Do they discount the price as shown on their website, or are they now holding firm since no new ones are being built?

I've used Valvoline for years, until the price of oil skyrocketed. Now, I just use Advance Auto branded oil. As long as it has the same API ratings as the national competitors, then it's just as good in my book. A lot of times, it's made by a big name manufacturer; they just put a different label on it. My truck has > 60k miles on it, and it's still going strong.

Fretboard Preference

It doesn't really matter to me, though I prefer maple on Strats or G&Ls. -
Had a great time on the phone with Paul Hamer today.

My brother has a big stash of them. It's a pity they were banned.

Holy sheepshit, Batman! I can see the ebay auctions now: "It's a pre-Fender-firing-Jol guitar, so it's worth more."

Hamer Brand Loyalty

'08 Hamer Studio Custom '08 Hamer Artist Custom '89 Gibson LP Custom '06 Heritage H150CM w/Lollar P90s I bought my Hamers because I wanted an American-built, excellent quality guitar that sounds as good as it looks, as well as easy access to the upper frets. -
So, time to write Hamer's obituary?
Thundersteel replied to zorrow's topic in Hamer Fan Club Messageboard
I think he may have meant the Tacoma guitar line, not Guilds made in the Tacoma factory. I have a Tacoma Chief, and it's one of the best acoustics I've owned. -

Shark, How about Wolfe Guitars in Jupiter? -
According to the Tacoma Guitar Forum, the Tacoma factory closed in early 2009. As far as their website goes, those pics haven't changed all year! This is from a post over there: I sent an e-mail to Jason Padgitt of Fender stating this: "Is there any plans to restart the Tacoma line of guitars? I have recently found this brand and have scooped up what I could find left of "new" wing series instruments. I am very impressed with their sound and have shown my Thunderchief to musicians that could not believe the volume and tone that it puts out. I feel that it would be a real shame just to kill the brand. Any comments would be greatly appreciated. I know that a while ago that you told a reporter that the Tacoma name would live on" and I hope that is still true. His response is as follows: Hi Jeff – While there are no immediate plans to resume production at the moment, the brand does still exist and future production is certainly a possibility. I appreciate your comments about the quality of the products and will pass those onto the folks responsible for development of the Tacoma products. With best regards, Jason Padgitt

I didn't know that. Still, to me, a Guild isn't a "real" Guild unless it was made in Westerly, RI.
