Buzzkiller. So what? You don't have to have solos to be a good band. Actually there are a couple, you just gotta listen to the entire album. Live he does more. Admittedly, his definitely bluesy influenced, and not a shredder. As to not hearing BS and LZ, think they were being sarcastic. Read many other interviews that included them (and Beatles/Doors as well as a bunch of 80s stuff) amongst their listenings.

Western North Carolinians, Wolfmother will be in your area, at the Orange Peel in Asheville on Friday night. They're not sold out yet. They're a Blast!
-
Send it to me and will promise to let you know.
-
That and some hard rockers that I can't quite put my finger on. It's fitting that Wolfmother played Communication Breakdown at Zeps induction to the UK RnR Hall of Fame awards a few months back.

Saw Wolfmother at the 930 Club in DC last night. WAGA, AWESOME!!! RAWKING!! It was sold out, with the packed place really into it. The "new" 930 club is much, much bigger than any of it's previous locations. They're in the middle of a US tour, with a good number of shows sold out. See em if you can. These guys are the real deal. Love their album, and even better, a Great Live Band. Check them out: Wolfmother Website. You can hear their entire album if you click the play button at the top of the main menu screen. For those who haven't heard them, you might have seen the Rockstar II animated commercial. That's them (playing Woman, slightly rearranged).

AMP Kit Projects - Who is Working on one?
seeker replied to Brewmaster's topic in Hamer Fan Club Messageboard
Got trannys yet? I have an OT and PT I need to get away from me lest I succumb to the siren's lure. Alas, fear for me, for I have trannies galore. Tonesluts to be exact. The siren has sung, and I have been ensnared. -

I've got parts for a Trainwreck Express and a Liverpool (EL-34 and EL-84) waiting my attention. Been so busy, have hardly had time to change pickups, much less complete an amp Seriously, look into doing an Express - not simple simon simple, but has now been researched a LOT and is relatively straightforward. Important: follow the physical layout; Ken F. was a genius. Go to Ampgarage -
I certainly appreciate an HFC brother/sister letting me know to pay sharp attention to a particular retail outfit. Don't care if they're pics or an expensive guitar; non-communication is not a good sign. It's possible they are in the hospital or sick and unable to communicate, but find this to rarely be the case. There -are- plenty of other suppliers that will provide good customer communications.

That they are. How so? Custom orders or dealers stock?

Or name it after that frightfully loud, fearful, Russian Multi-rocket launcher, the Stalin Organ. Ladys and Gents, The Cajun Organ!

In my biz, they call that a "no thank you" bid.

The Governor is like the PJ, but -has- that low end wallop too. I've had both. But if you're happy with the Wizards, they're definitely outstanding speakers!
-
BTMN, you rascal you!
-
You're an evil man, Poe. I love my EL34 Fargen and now you got me thinking. LOL. Try replacing one of the Wizards with a Governor. It has a bit more depth and should sweeten it up a bit. Imho, just a good combination.

Winning Bidder 5, "albiznus", opened account on May-28-03. I suspect it's someone well known who has kept this (and probably other) ebay accounts in the wings to stay anonymous. Why is it that almost all the high-profile/high-price Hamers on ebay seem to have something odd going on?

BCR Blueburst Limited Run
seeker replied to BCR Greg's topic in For Sale - Wanted to Buy - PIF - eBay & Other PSAs
Yepp, they reviewed one from the XT series, and it was that exact model; SATQ, Sunburst Archtop Quilt. They had a roundup of 32 or so guitars under 500, and Hamer was one of the GP Editors Picks (along with 4-5 others). -

LOL!!! Asshattery is raging unabated tonight, innit? Tonight? Some of that, but a lot of precise-snickety, which I confess I am guilty of on occaison. Comes from being an engineer. Asshattery was raging earlier. Greggles is trying to do something unique at a universally affordable price. -

So, how much is a 'custom color upcharge' for reference? http://www.hamerguitars.com/img/custserv/pricelist_hamer.pdf Listed as "Change Finish to Non-Stock Finish" -

Are they all also going to have the "natural" mahogany back shown on your quilt color test one? Natural just kills with a bluish finish. Please email me prices too -
Prototype Special? What's the story on that one, a 2004? I'm interested if you get your prize!

Peter Fung is a well known Hamer collector who posts on this message board. He is really a nice guy, but everyone likes to make jokes about him. Because he has the most extensive and awesome Hamer collection. He's always seemed to be a great guy too. Over the years there have been a number of ebay auctions of especially fine Hamers (such as this one) that have "ended early" with the item "no longer for sale". Urban myth is that someone offered a price (outside the ebay auction) the seller couldn't refuse. IMHO, that myth is at least partially true; the pattern has been repeated too many times to be otherwise. Who, or whom, it is has always been a matter of debate. Usually those guitars are never seen again.

Heh all, Thinking on installing metal (gold-plated) pickup wrings in one of my HB-equiped Studios. I know metal pup covers can have some effect on the pups volume/tone (especially the cheaper ones). Would metal pup rings do the same? Obviously, they're outside the diameter of the windings, but don't have a clue if the field from the magnet extends much beyond the windings?
