  2. My wife likes my playing and lets me know it. On the other hand, she married me, which immediately calls her judgement into question. She's even trying to help me clear out a part of our finished basement for my guitar and amp "space". Either I did marry a saint, or it's some clever ploy to get my gear out of the upstairs and away from my teenager who's always screaming at me to turn it down (which is incredibly ironic). Or both.
  3. Just a couple. Slowing down 9X P-90 Special (was galejt's) 03 Elite Gold Top
  4. Motorhead is really Lemmy's musical incarnation. Motorhead without Lemmy would be like lemonade without lemons. Funny enough, he wrote the song Motorhead while in another band, Hawkwind. They are still around, albeit with one original member, Dave Brock. Considering they never had the same lineup from one studio album to the next (20+?), not sure if they would count.
  5. Just caught this thread. They have a thicker body? Like a Les Paulish type thick - about 2" at the edge/rim?
  6. I prefer running amps at full tilt, getting power tube and some preamp distortion. However, this isn't always practical, so do like to use a good booster/distortion to get lower volume breakup. Otherwise, I'm an absolute sucker for Phasers if Pink Floyd/Hawkwind is on the brain.
  7. Yeah, he's got a real Ed-i-puss complechts.
  8. Brian Wilson? Is sure ain't CC.
  9. New Production EL-34 SED (they are from the Svetlana factory; New Svets sold in the last 2 or so years are actually made somewhere else and sold under the Svetlana name; some international branding issue) 6L6 SEDs work for me, but haven't tried nearly as many as I have EL-34s 6V6 - JJs EL-84 - JJs 12AX-7; Electro Harmonix for Higher gain, more top end; Mullard reissues for Medium gain, good balance (tames the high end of an overly bright amp), but are imho too, overpriced NOS (reasonably priced) EL-34 Teslas, hands down awesome tubes. Yes, they cose more, but nowhere near mullards EL-84 Teslas once again. 12 AX7; NOS JAN Phillips. Used to be waaaaaycheaper than they are now (got 7 from Poe three years ago for a ten spot a piece, thanks!). Just as good as the NOS JAN GE, but a bit less. Still pricey though,, but for most applications a very balanced tube. Shame is, they sound like a 12AX7 should, but all new production seems to fall short.
  10. **Sniff, sniff, sniff ** I just love a happy story. Especially when it keeps me out of the doghouse.
  11. I was just thinking the same thing. If you say its a medium beefy, I'll just cry in the corner.
  12. Condolences Bill, it's not an easy time. My wife's mother passed away 4 months ago also, and I was very close to her. Every time you think of her, she will always be there.
  13. Look at a Rocktron Piranha too; it's great. I've got one, so I am a bit biased. It's one a space rack so you could pop in a dedicated effects rack unit.
  14. 96 Special FM I got in 01. Most unheralded tone monster of the Hamer lineage.
  15. If you want to run both P90s at once, then you can get a set with one that is rwrp (reverse wound, revers polarity believe), which makes them -act- like each of the two coils in a numbucker. Really works.
  16. Modes.
  17. I'm not sure if these help, but I put them together to help me figure the diatonic stuff out. First is a crosswalk of keys versus what chords can be played in that key. Second is a layout of the modes, which are just the same repeating pattern with different starting points in a key.
  18. Found them. They are Eddystone Enclosures, and have been bought out by Hammond. They still sell in the US; I got a bunch of boxes from Mouser, but they don't seem to carry Eddystone anymore. LionElectronics still carries them. This one should be big enough for 6 stompers; it's about 7.5 by 4.5 inches. To find the exact sizes, Hammond lists them. Just look them up at Lion by part number.
  19. Mouser has a WIDE selection of Hammond Enclosures If I can find it, there is another supplier of diecast aluminum boxes that are made in the UK, shipped here, yet are still less expensive than Hammond.
  20. Email sent - I'll take them as I said. If you say they're good, that's enough for me
  21. I have a BBE (462 I believe) that is definite trade bait. Will email you when I get home, but in any case, I want them if they are good. Have you had them tested for gain? (you obviously would know if they're microphonic)
  22. I sent a USPS PMO and it took 3 months to get into the owners hands. Actually, it was stolen out of his mailbox, but never cashed. It was delivered on the same day that CA state income tax checks were being delivered. Some bozo came behind the mailman and stole ALL the mail from every box on the street. Apparently threw out all the non-CA state mail because my PMO was never cashed. If you are convinced it will never make it there, you can get a refund (that guy is full of s*&t, not an uncommon thing with the USPS employees, unfortunately). There's a form/affadavit you have to fill out, along with your receipt. Unfortunately, you have to wait 60 days (or is it 90?) from the time you bought it until the time they will give you a refund. Go to the USPS home page: Money Orders
  23. I had the same blank page problem, but managed to get there by going -HERE-and clicking on "Galerie". Mein Gott, what an awesome collection! Your presentation is just outstanding too.
  24. Sweet guitar Jaye. I've been tempted many times by one, but never have had a chance to really crank one up. Given our past, I know how on-the-mark your tone reports are. BTW, how is the Reinhardt? I as tempted last summer to get one for the lower wattage thing. DABECKs amps are killers, but sound best cranked. Oh, and give me a call if you join a metal band and need to sell your Junior! LOL
  25. Two years. My Hamer Studio Custom, with the crazyquilt blueburst, is a lifetime keeper.
