  1. This is exactly what I meant.
  2. Here's the thing: I see a lot of Hamers that look really nice. They've got a nice figured top, in great shape, feel and sound like pure sex. And then I always think, if only this were a different transparent finish, I would get it right now. I know it sounds petty. If it sounds and feels great, and the vibe is there, why would the finish make a difference? Well I can't explain it, but it does to me. Ladies and gentlemen, for me that finish is the 59 burst.
  3. If there's no fret binding then I wouldn't think it would hurt the value at all. Since it's a non-collectible guitar to begin with, you don't have anything to worry about.
  4. Happy Birthday, Dave. 41, huh? Almost time to start getting those digital prostate exams.
  5. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  6. What the hell. I sent you ten. I eat a lot for lunch. Now let me at that nudity!!!
  7. Congrats again. Pics are mandatory once you get it set up the way you like.
  8. 1986 Mirage huh. That most be the rarest guitar on the list.
  9. All right, now fuck you.
  10. Umm, yeah. What's up with this? I put a smiley damnit!
  11. Well, if you're serious, let me in on what you've got. If not, you suck.
  12. I don't have a Newport but I do have some experience with the Seth Lovers. Normally, those are not bright pickups. The A2 magnets and vintage PAF spec construction keep them pretty smooth and creamy. In fact, if a guitar was already bright and the owner wanted a PAF style pickup to smooth it up a bit, I would recommend a Seth Lover. I'm curious to hear what others chime in with, though.
  13. Sure, what the hell. I've only tried the 7 strng Custom in my old Ibanez RG1527. I'll give it another whirl if you're interested in a trade. Is it standard or tremspaced?
  14. It is way more scooped than the JB. The JB has that upper mid spike that really makes it seem overly bright to me. The Dimebucker has tons of low end chunk and tons of treble to cut through on those leads. It is great for metal riffs and ripping leads. However, I tend to play leads with my neck pickup, and I love more mids in a pickup. Plus, since I've been going more towards lower output pickups, my Distortions have been covering my high output pickup needs. I would say it has the low end of the Invader without being as dark. And it has the highs of the JB without being as bright.
  15. Don't know how much love I will get here for this pickup, but I'll give it a go. Seymour Duncan Dimebucker with full factory lead in great shape. It's a cool pickup, but it's just not for me. I've been evolving my tastes toward lower output pickups. Will sell for $60 shipped USPS Priority or will consider trades for PAF type humbuckers. Thanks for looking.
  16. This brings up a question about groups centered around a frontman. Take Ozzy or Yngwie. The band is constantly changing but the group is named after the frontman. Does this count? And with Megadeth, Dave Mustaine is the only remaining original member. Would the band be on the list if it was originally called the Dave Mustaine Band instead of Megadeth?
  17. No, he's not. And Jimmy likes exposure and money.
  18. For what it's worth, I have a Chavel 650xl which is the updated Model 6. The necks on those were a little thicker than the Model series. In fact, the neck on my Model 6 is the neck to which all other guitars are compared to. As far as bang for the buck goes, if you want a bolt on, you probably can't beat a Centaura. If you want a neck thru, the 650xl is the best deal going.
  19. Yeah, but I prefer "Michelle's" pictures better. (Otherwise known as Barbie Griffin) Too bad she didn't pose with a Hamer. She makes me happy in the pants.
  20. I've got a larger pic on my computer, and I think yu might be right about the Rolex. It looks damn close to the pic you posted. Nice eye.
  21. The acoustic in the second pic was just a cheap guitar the store had sitting next to the counter. After Jol grabbed the Studio Custom, he put it on that stan(you can see it in the background of the last pic) and one of the guys put the acoustic behind the counter out of the way.
  22. You know, I was trying to check it out and I couldn't quite get close enough to tell. I didn't get the nerve to ask him. But it was a nice watch, though.
